There's a soupçon of it but taken into consideration it's still less prevalent in daily life than it used to be. I just read a really good article as to one person's thoughts as a gay man as to why homophobia (as in an actual fear of homosexuality) still exists but I can't share the link on here.

I think this is bullshit.

Most actual "alpha males" are secure in their identity and are tolerant of others.

Heterosexual at one end, gay/lesbian at the other. With all shades an combinations in between.

He's just vile. Several of the Polish guys at work have punched him because he thinks its funny to tell them that Hitler didn't go far enough. One young lad almost flattened him on Friday because he was screaming that he was thick because he wasn't English. I had to step in to stop him getting hit again. He's been reported to HR numerous times but they've done nothing about it.

You would think wouldn't you, but my half brother had to move very quickly to Manchester to get away from most of his family, in particular his brothers from his mothers side, who said they were going to kill him, and it wasn't an empty threat.

The above is very true, many gay guys suffer from deep rooted inverted homophobia issues and consequently inflict all sorts of nasty abuse and stigma on other gay people , usually the ones that painstakingly maintain heterosexual facades . they're insecure and deathly frightened their world of lies will topple down upon them so adopt an ultra homophobic attitudes to shift focus and scrutiny from themselves.

Anyone that's seen that Al Pacino film "cruising" will kow what I'm talking about.

for me it doesn't matter if your straight, bi, gay lesbian, or trans if I get on with you then I get on with you

From a sexual side of things I have played with straight couple, bi fem straight male, bi cpl (he played straight), and a very gay bi sexual lady.

There is a lot of homophobia still around but I would say that people are a lot more tolarant than when I was a child. I remember my parents seeing two women kissing in public and they said it was disgusting. To me I probably would notice but then I notice when straight couples kiss anyway, but then I would dismiss it as a nice couple

I think society in general is far, far more understanding of the gay community than ever it used to be but having only used the forum a short while have been amazed at the attitudes of some contributors.

I think that is more about forums in general than Fab in particular as the ability to hide behind a keyboard brings out the very worst in some people. (True colours?)

I've never come across an intelligent homophobic person. They're always deficient, like something went seriously wrong somewhere.

Report anything that you wouldn't tolerate out there in the wider world. Abusive degradation of others may be the incremental element that pushes someone towards ending their life. No one should face being bullied, even from slurs aimed at groups.

In some respects Fab is more tolerant than a few years ago, so it's sad that the ops picked up a negative trend.

Both my partner and I identify as bi/pan-sexual and we find it very hard to meet gay men or lesbians (depending on which one of us it is, obviously). We have found that those who are gay can be very unaccepting of bisexual people.

Too often the stereotype is that you're 'greedy', when in reality we just don't really care what someone has between their legs - all kinds of genitals can be fun.

I've got no time for homophobes I'm a straight man who's completely comfortable with my sexuality.

I've also got no time for anybody with a chip on their shoulder. If somebody is homophobic I would rather know about it.

If we're not allowed to express our opinions on a public forum right or wrong, how can we decide what certain people are really like?

Some people are far too over sensitive and public forums are probably not the best place for them.

Ignorance is never bliss , very often it's a fear of something underlying within themselves.

something they know will not be excepted by there Society , they make a bigger thing of it as a decoy , bigots just admit you love a pokey bum wank so we can all get on!

"On the increase just lately?"

Tbh I think they've always been around and been loud and clear in their ignorance!

Personally I find it fairly constant - and a useful filter in deciding who I don't want to meet!

However - if you're a bi/gay male and at the brunt of their comments, I imagine how 'bovvered' you are by their comments would alter according to your state of mind/happiness at the time!

I still find it amusing/bizarre that the vast majority of women on the site are bi/bi-curious and that's not only fine - its actively encouraged!!

Odd little world we live in, isn't it?

There was a lovely study where sensors were connected to cocks, and then porn was _iewed.

The homophobic men's cocks were the most swollen by watching gay porn, compared to general straight men.

We're all entitled to express _iews but only low life filth would find it acceptable to harass, intimidate, oppress or abuse others. People with empathy would rightly concern themselves as they communicate, ensuring that others are respected.

yes homo/trans phobia is rife were I work. scratch the surface and there's sexism that should have been rooted out decades ago. I got funny looks when I wore my black scarve the other week before I came out to the top manager.

I actually find it quite prevalent in public life.

When I pull someone up, in public, for sexist/homophobic/transphobic/racist language I inevitably get told "Can't you take a joke?"

It's gone from being out and out poor language to being disguised as a joke. It's not funny though. And it's no better.

I've always found this odd. If the idea is to encourage women to attend surely women who play with other women are just as good as a straight man? Bi guys should be getting the same discount as straight women and bi women should be paying what the straight men are paying

I'm just kidding, but it does work based on the stated logic of club pricing...

Hi Pandora,

Yes, if you are a Transsexual but I dont find it offensive as a TV. I know there is a spectrum but there is a definite split between a TV (for the sake of a word) who is parttime and a TS who is living and working as a woman and possibly transitioning.

I just take it as a compliment, most of the men I meet are straight, only the bi- ones have any interest in my penis they are seeing me as the woman I am at that time...and I am pleased for their fantasy. I am a fantasy woman - I know things about their sexuality most women don't know and are not interested in finding out without sneering (I dont think I'm talking about most women on here)

do you know, I love bi- nights more than any other. There's just a complete freedonm and abandon and everyone can join in. My favourite nights have been with both men and women. Got spit roast once with a girl and a strap on behind and a guy in front...glorious. Swingers nights can be a bit cliquey.

On another site..

We were recently invited to a party (couples profile) i said not interested, sounded like a cock fest (or someone's idea of a cuckold party, what a load of crap, anyway i digress) so the organiser asked "but you have MM as an interest?" yes says I, for bi MMf.."none of our party guys bat for the other team"... Now

I've sucked more than my fair share of a particular type of cock at some specific parties and i can tell you, dear reader, for some social groups anything bi is a BIG no no. But it doesn't stop them doing it in the private rooms...

Personally l don't care if a person is gay or bisexual and anyone should be able to express themselves sexually as they feel provided it is not oppressing or abusing someone else.

However calling a man who does not want to sleep with another man a homophobe is as ridiculous as calling a gay man a mysandranist because he does not sleep with women or calling a lesbian a man hater because she does not sleep with men.

The issue should not be sexual preference but promoting respect and avoiding abuse and ridicule of other people's sexuality. Ridicule, abuse and treating gay and bi-people not as equals is in my _iew homophobic.

Offtopic, but clubs not allowing male-male action on standard nights seems like they're straight from the dark ages. Their use of private membership exemption from equality law is just a bigot's charter.
