Hotel Stop Overs With Work

Just wondering if any women stay over in a hotel in the south/ south west through work ?
Never see any in the hotel bar on there own but plenty must use them on business.
Occasionally see someone having a meal but they don't seem to stop in the bar for a drink, guess it's awkward and they get fed up with being hit on ?  |

I work in Hotel Management and solo women in hotels is actually commonplace. But as I have witnessed, a few often tend to meet up together and stay on the same night, eat together and drink together.
Safety in numbers perhaps? |

When I'm away with work (generally London) I've usually prearranged myself a meet specifically so I don't have to sit on my own in a hotel bar like an eejit. |

I normally travel with a work colleague, last time was really embarrassing as we were in a rather plush but quiet hotel, only 2 other couples in the restaurant having romantic meals with their partners, then there was me (ginger) and the team geek - who over the candle lit table told me he had semi reasonable sexual skills!!! Now I'm not certain if that was a subtle hint that he would be up for fun that night - but I wasn't taking any chances and made my excuses and retired to my room - alone |

I've not met anyone from here while away with work, but met and enjoyed some great convos with other hotel souls........ Not that I wouldn't mind some fab company  |

Different story in the North East up in Aberdeen, its a constant flow of oil workers staying over prior to flying offshore,
The majority used to be out on the pull looking for a night of fun with any female looing to take the bate
This started to cut down now that random breath tests are done prior to flight |

When I go to hotels on my own for work I usually take my laptop and sit in the bar and work. If anyone tries to hit on me its a great excuse for asking them to leave me alone so that I can enjoy my evening in peace. If you don't have a solid reason it can be hard to get rid of guys. |

Well... This week I've been hit on twice in the street and once in the sauna...
I'm using "hit on" as a very loose term, obviously.
In a not-dead hotel bar I can easily have three or four guys approach me in an evening. They're always away on business too, and proberbly all married. |

Pub culture is mostly male, not many women will go to a pub or bar on their own and socialise with whoever is about.
I travel a lot and it's incredibly rare that I will sit in a hotel or any other bar unless I'm getting food. Even then I generally have a book or my tablet. |

There is nothing more soul less than a businessmans hotel in the evening. I've done it so many times and its just so boring. Hitting on lone females isnt my thing. Women should feel free to go about their business without let or hindrance from some johnny saddo who thinks they are there for his amusement. No i just book in, focus on my work and book out,,simples. |

More seriously - I think it's proximity to London.
I get hit on *alot* when I am in London (for work or pleasure). I could barely go a day working in London without someone approaching me or giving me their number.
Or perhaps proximity to big cities where men tend to be in the dominant positions. And sheer volumes of people. |

I sometimes stay in hotels with work, my mood really fluctuates though - sometimes I'll do work in the bar or whatever, other times I'll just go somewhere for a walk to avoid 4 walls! |

I've never been hit on randomly in Birmingham (except, erm, in the gay clubs).
And I go to Birmingham *alot* because one of my partners lives there.

There could well be - you get a different "look" in different areas so it would make sense. Like more glammed up and fake looking Oop north, whereas London tends to be a bit more laid back. I always feel overdressed in London.

Is the single man really a predator then or just generally expected by some to make the 1st move.
I find when I'm in a London bar / hotel if I smile back at someone, look their way a few times they're more likely to come over, if I ignore them they usually don't bother. Either way works for me depending on my mood.

I think that's certainly the case.
I rarely get hit on when I go home to Essex. But if I go out with my Step-Sister - a TOWIE devotee - then she gets hit on all the time.
When I go out in London and I'm wearing my long dreadlocks, I will get hit on at least twice as often as if I've got my hair shaved or closely cropped.
But Birmingham... NOTHING! |
