In answer to your question on the last thread. I'm not down to my previous December weight and if I lose 10% it means I will be under 9stone which will give me a couple of lb to play about with

You'll do great!!

I lost 2.5lb this week but think it might have helped that I weighed in the morming when I usually weigh in the evening.

WOW thats lush Evie.. been good this week, need 2 lb. for my official 3 stone and club 10.

Gym might have buggered me up a smidge as the micro tears with make me retain water. Crossing my fingers i get away with it this week just to get my awards.

I'll accept the gains over the next few weeks but i'll be working hard

Well yesterday someone else at work noticed that I had lost some weight

That is 4 people in the last couple of weeks - I even tried on a skin tight white Tshirt on Saturday evening for the first time in a long time and actually didn't feel like some fat middle aged bloke

I still have a way to go but I am starting to get some elf confidence

i tried your method oftight white top Mike.. it worked for me too lol

Loads of comments on my facebook page.. frankly i just thought it was a better fitting bra that put my tits closer to my chin then my knee's ahaha

Thighs are REALLY sore today.. but the fitness instructor gave me 2 days to recover (isnt he lovely lol).. When i got home from the gym i sat on the loo then took me 5 mins to get up after

I have lost a 1st 2lb since the new year but plateaued the last 2 weeks.

Think this is partly due to an old ankle injury flaring up which means I haven't been to the gym x

Yes but your outlook has changed already and that is the crucial bit!

Have the Chinese and the birthday cake by all means- total abstinence from fats and sugars is unrealistic!

But being able to get straight back on it, rather than eat badly for another week/day/next meal, is key!

The gym will get better, just don't overdo it and get an injury like I have xxx

Think because it was my first time and thought i was better than what i actually am. the circuit looked simple but was cream crackered after just 6 mins to the point my legs felt like jelly and wanted to be sick.

I do give it my all and not a half hearted kinda girl, im going there for a reason and make sure i get my heart rate going.

next time now i know what is in store i will do things with a slower pace and perhaps not go down so far on the squats or punch to hard

You really don't need to worry about having a birthday cake etc..its not a race and there will be endless days to be good.

I know how you feel though because you feel one weak day will ruin it all but I'm sure you'll be fine.

The important thing is that your going in one way only..the right way.

Your doing amazing and should feel proud of your effort and achievement.

You are awesome! I love a new stone zone even more than a sticker I never found going to the gym made me gain, and if I didn't lose it was literally just water retention and it came off the next week.

So January 1st 2015 I was 14 st 8. When I last weighed myself last week I was 12 st 10. First time I've been under 13st since my teens. Not fussed about the numbers now. Just need to work off a bit more belly fat and strengthen my legs and I'll be happy. Just need to lay off the pringles and cake a bit more he he.

Have you upped your water intake since starting exercise as you'll need too, it will help flush out the kidneys / water retention.

i read somewhere that your body needs a refuel period where you eat pretty bad and it eliminates all excess water its held while youve been going the gym. x

Hi all,

In case some of you want a tool to track their health, I use the powhealth website and mobile app. It is loaded with trackers and forums and it is free.

Congrats to those of you persisting with gym and training to get (or stay fit). Don't aim for quick-fix though, the body needs a steady pace for long-lasting results.

Be well.

Todays Gym session was just simply laps around the Sports Hall.

In Oct/Nov time i was awarded a blue badge because my size made it very difficult to walk and i became exhausted very quickly (50m max).. so today when i found out i was walking i wasnt sure how well id do.

Was over the moon when i managed 20 laps totalling 2.2 km in 20 mins. Was walking at a decent pace too (even added hand weights for the last 10 laps) heart rate was 155 ish

Worked hard but really pleased as punch i achieved that.

This breaking your ribs and going on tramadol isn't so bad after all and its weird cause I weighed myself cause I actually did feel lighter

Well done on working so hard. Are you combining it with a change of diet? I became vegan this year, not to lose weight but for animal welfare reasons but It has made me lose weight really quickly. I am having to add new foods and eat more often to remain at my ideal weight.

I've been a bit naughty this week as the sweeties have been creeping in. But I have been busy with the gym and decorating so not beating myself up.

Tonight's tea was SW chicken pizzaiola, butternut squash, sweet potato, carrots and broccoli, followed by raspberries and strawberries in yoghurt, so plenty of speed

Tonight's tea was SW chicken pizzaiola, butternut squash, sweet potato, carrots and broccoli, followed by raspberries and strawberries in yoghurt, so plenty of speed "

I've had a couple of rather syn loaded days too having reached my initial club 10 target and with the weather turning colder. Will be back on track tomorrow as I want to achieve my 2 stone award in just over a week and a half's time.

I lost 2.5 this week, so I only need 0.5 now for that elusive first stone. It will be mine next week!

I now go gym 3-4 days a week, not trying to loose weight, just get some shape and muscle. It's working though I lost 6kg.

Wiggles comes once a week, just to keep me company and keep me happy by wearing her yoga pants

Oh thats sooooo close! You'll smash that target no doubt!

No.

I do not meet NHS criteria. The contributing factor to my weight is that i have an un treated Thyroid gland for the passed 7 years ish..

Because my Endocrinologist cant seam to figure out whats wrong with me.

In order to qualify you need to have a BMI over the norm and have no metabolism issues.

Yesterday was my friend's birthday - I had a little bit of her birthday cookie as I didn't want to be rude. There was a Krispy Kreme in the afternoon, and we went to pizza express for dinner. I was good and had the low fat pizza (very nice, by the way, totally recommend) but was talked into sharing the honeycomb cream slice (also recommend).

Today we were giving out Mother's Day chocs at work and my colleague opened a box, do I've had 3 of those. So not the best weekend food wise but I'm not beating myself up. Did extra sets at the gym this morning

Just make sure you have a decent meal not long after gym.

I know you are on slimming world but has your consultant or doctor or even PT not advised you on when and what to eat before/after gym?

Well im just home from weigh in with a 4 lb gain

I am a bit sad about it as no one likes to gain weight, but with 4 gym sessions this week think it was pretty much guarentee'd id retain water in my feet/legs. I can see my puffy feet

Not going to give up with the exercise, just going to drink more and eat more veg this week.

On wards and upwards, i feel proud of myself :D

I think I've come to a decision that I'm not bothered now about losing anymore I've realised just how happy I am with the way I look and I don't think losing 1/2 stone is going to make much difference. So it's all about the maintaining, not being obsessed and only weighing once a week. If a few lbs come off good. But I'm officially satisfied

I'm still frustratingly teetering around the 2st loss mark. I had said I'd like to lose another 10lbs+ by easter but I don't think that's likely to happen now. Although not entirely impossible!

Just think how much you've lost already and don't beat yourself up.

I lost 1.5lbs this week, so 9lbs off since I joined slimming world which works out at 1lb a week. Not as much as I'd hoped but it's coming off, so focusing on that

It's the exercise that probably caused the gain. Muscle is heavier than fat, so you should be chuffed at a gain really. Have you taken your measurements? I have lost overall 12" in a month which is going to be due to exercise

No ive not done measurements, im just doing monthly pictures.

I knew id retain water,, possibly going to the gym 2 hours before weigh in wasnt my smartest move. I feel so much healthier regardless of what the scales say and im proud that ive made the effort to exercise now. Its only walking/basic circuits but when your 27 stone realistically i cant do much else

Ask a friend to help take measurements. My friend and I did it and were astounded!!! Different strokes for different folks I know.

Doing something is so much better than doing nothing! You have every right to be proud of yourself.

I've signed up to a new gym, starting next week. Got to start gently as I've injured my leg - but they are helping me to work out what I can and can't do.

Getting a food plan drawn up too, so majorly upping my protein and reducing carbs.

Feeling inspired to get fitter for the warmer weather.

Great that your making changes to your diet. I was told a healthy balanced diet is all you need for gym work unless your wanting to beef up. I asked about increasing protein and was told 'no' lol

Im having a great week so far (mines Wed to Wed) so 3 days after weigh in. Im walking the Sports Relief mile and actually tried the route out today. Harder than i thought but being ankle deep in mud doesnt help. Completed it in 30 mins. Hoping the sunshine comes out and its nice firm ground :D

you won't realize one day you will just realised you've done it, like when I started going out for the day and not sitting down on every seat or be walking round and the only time you stop is when your having a coffee or you walk somewhere you couldn't walk to before and don't realise you've done it.

I've hit 3 stone and 7lbs this week, wooohoooo! Never thought I'd be able to get it off in all honesty but I have...just another half stone to go and I'll be at the realistic goal I set myself! Started weights this week so I'm absolutely aching, stiff and using muscles in my shoulders and back that I don't think I've used in years!!! Aching but feeling very proud and ridiculously horny, off out to a club tonight to celebrate but my belly has decided it just wants to pop out today and say hello to everyone, not the best look in the world but at least when I suck it in now, it actually goes in rather than not moving at all when I was heavier!

Well done to all the above and keep it up!!! It's a long, hard road and good and bad days will come but stick at it! I've had a shit week, food wise, had 2 puddings everyday cos of the monthly fairy but back on it on Monday!

I keep meaning to do one of those "mud runs" and to this end (and because they were on offer and I liked them ), I bought myself some trail running trainers.

I'm now doing more than one session of cardio a week!

Smashed out a 2 mile cross country run after work today.

Halifax

Gout out on the bike for a decent spin for the first time since August on Sunday(going down to the shops/work doesn't count)and managed about 25 miles.

Quite surprised that I could walk afterwards with no ill effects either.

Onwards and upwards!

Put on 2lbs this week, think it's the past couple of weeks catching up with me. I'm away for a long weekend on Thursday so I'll try to be as sensible as I can and eat at the restaurant rather than the fast food outlets!

I'm feeling really motivated now. I'm down 9lbs having been doing the "lose a stone in a week" diet. I cheated as i had alcohol Friday Saturday and Sunday so I'm very pleased with that. Hopefully that will be my motivation to continue with healthy eating. I've been good so far this week....so fingers crossed I'm back on it.

I've got a step counter on my phone, I think it's great. Apparently the goal is to achieve 10 thousand steps a day. Monday - friday im averaging 25 thousand but on the weekends it differs obviously because I can't have it in my shorts whilst playing football

I recommend getting the app though

That's brilliant news. I gained after an "oops" week and a half. Now I'm back on track and my aim is to get my 2 stone award the first Wednesday in April...
