Ever been married? Still are? Would you again?

As it's the 29th Feb and ladies can propose today (I'm sure they do other days but I'll go with what's tradition!)
Have you ever been married? Still are and happily swinging together? Or been there done that and never again in a month of Sunday's?
I was married for 15 years. Don't think I would again - simply because I've been there and done that. Think I'll just live separately to whoever I end up with, as I love my own space too much. |

I've been married twice, the first time disastrously and briefly the second 28 years together 35 and hopefully many more to come. I wouldn't marry again because nothing could match what we have now. |

That's lovely. I know a few people who had a similar experience with a disastrous first and short marriages, but second one has been brilliant.

Almost! Glad I didn't go through with it!
Most of my life Iv dreamed about meeting my soul mate and getting married. Obviously there were times I thought it would never happen and times I didn't want to be with anyone.
I'm back with my soul mate whom I met 20 years ago and I'm proposing today |

" Been there done that and never again "
Wimp!!
I was married for 20 years - I would certainly be in no hurry to marry again and would want to live with someone for at least a year beforehand to be sure, but I have no problem with it in principle. I like things settled, lol, nothing wrong with marriage, and I prefer monogamy, I just picked a lemon first time round! |

I Marc.
I would have stayed with him without getting married, but marriage confers a lot of legal rights, not to mention a tax reduction in the US. So, a judge and 12 guests later and we are happily married.

One of my concerns. Ben lives with me in my house. Everything is in my name. I have three children, two grandchildren. My kids loath Ben with a passion.
If anything happened to me they would evict him as soon as as the house is willed to them. |

If you don't want to get married, then get a will drawn up. Do it right so there aren't any questions or doubt.

Married once still married. Best thing I ever did. Won't do it again because I said I'd do it once and once only with the right person.
Unless he wants to renew our vows of course.

Yes, married my "childhood sweetheart" in 2005 after 13 years & 1 child together. I asked him - he said yes but reluctantly. Had a great wedding I. Scotland with a princess dress followed by a big party a week later. Went on to have another child in 2006. Sadly he left in Feb 2012 & our divorce was finalised in April 2014.
Would I do it again? With the right person yes I would. But finding someone to take on my stroppy 14 yr old & 9 yr old sons is a big ask & I like my current situation |

Never been married and never will be. It's worth jack all anyhow. Because i say certain words in a certain place in front of some stranger who barely knows me doesn't change how i feel about a person or make the relationship more solid.
I couldn't have a church wedding as i don't believe so would be having one 'just because' and is pretty two faced and frankly..who the hell gave the registry office authority to tell me if my relationship is official or not? Their ruling means jack to me so no.... |

Been married. We were both military so even though we were married we only lived together in the same house for 6 months.. And it was that 6 months that ended a 9 year marriage.
Would never do it again. Ever!!!!! |
