Ordered a dress off T'internet
It arrived and it wouldn't fit a child
I am by no means big !!!
Like why do they do this ???
Didn't know was coming from China as wouldn't of ordered it
I need to shrink !

It's not you, its Chinese sizes, my daughter and I have had this problem ordering cosplay items in the past, the sizes are so far out in fact that I bet if it had been sized for the UK, it would have been too big for you, don't let this trigger self image issues, because its really not you |

ordered dress too, seems uk size 10 would have to order china size 14/16 , we emailed to complain and was told keep the dress and they will send a replacement... sold dress on ebay for more than we paid for it plus got another free  bonus all round |

I bought a dress from China for one of my daughters proms it was shocking
Half the dress wasn't even stitched it came with the tacking pins still in it, they was the only thing holding it together
The sizing was ridiculous
She was devastated when it came, only two days before her prom, we had to rush out and buy one
I paid £120 for this dress, mailed the company who said they would refund on receipt of the dress back but refused to pay return postage so I paid £25 to return it

Sadly Amazon have so many outside traders on it now who are a pest to deal with if something goes wrong that I only buy something that is fulfilled by them now.
I did buy something once from china on Ebay and it was way too much hassle so avoid it now, but the sneaky sods are using UK address's to take the order so I still ended up with too much hassle and I thought I was buying from here. |

My friend got caught out too, ordered an XL swimsuit & it looked no larger than a UK 8 when it arrived.
Hilarious trying it on though, couldn't get it over her thighs / arse |

Yes, you have to check the estimated delivery date to suss them out, very sneaky. I lucked out and got two fabulous vintage dresses from China, I love this blue and white one - but the risque underwear, now that's another matter......   |

Chinese sizes always a problem and yes they now use uk addresses but look out for models, if they are east asian its probably going to be too small. But Boohoo are just as bad, rarely do more than sz 14 and even then there's no room for boobs (ok mine are fake and DD).
Just had the opposite happen too, bought a string dress off ebay and ordered an XL to be safe and its huge! Doh!

Same problem. Ordered a floor length, yellow lace dress. I'm 10/12, but ordered xxl, couldn't get in it and it came halfway up my calves. Took 4 weeks to come. Didn't bother returning, as it would have cost too much and you couldn't get a refund only an exchange!! |

On Amazon it is not always easy to see from where the item is coming - and, yes, despite the ability to see the sizing charts, anything coming from China will inevitably be too small (despite ordering the enormous size) and will take a month to arrive. I avoid anything where the picture shows a Chinese model. No, I'm not racist. It won't be long before the Chinese sellers catch on, I'm sure.
I did once put in an order. The item arrived with a bill from HM Customs and Excise. Bloody cheek. |

Yup. Chinese sizing is ridiculous.
When I go there, my cousin basically takes me into shops and asks "Do you sell anything that fits her?" The shop assistant looks me up and down, shakes their head, and we leave.
x30 times.
I've stopped hoping I can get cheap clothes when I go, I get everything tailor made.
But it kind of makes sense - if companies made larger sizes, they just wouldn't sell them, and would make no profile off them. Lol. |

Yes, it's very annoying when they try to hide the origin of goods.
If you don't want to buy off a 'Foreign' source on fleebay (even though it may show item location as UK on the listing) click on the feedback rating and it will give where the seller is registered and when.
Don't know about Amazon et al though. |
