When you meet someone from Fab are you the same person as you are on here?
I think I'm pretty much the same on here as in real life. I just wear more clothes
When I meet someone though, even if I know their real name I still think of them and talk about them with their Fab name! |

"I'm pretty much the same, probably come across better in reality than I do on here
And I think of people by their fab name too!"
It's something pretty unique to fab, where you're having a conversation about a mutual fab acquaintance who's changed their name a couple of times and you know them by different names! |

I was talking about this with some fab friends the other day. I'm me but just a different side, and I refer to other fabbers as their fab names, its like being part of a spy network! |

I don't see how being different in person could benefit anybody, but i guess people have too remember that we all have more too our personalities than we show on line, we can all take our time too send considered responses in messages and forums, sometimes that allows people too build up a false perception of who we are.
I certainly do my best to not hide anything, or make out i am something when i am not, that can only lead too disappointment |

I can be quite quiet sometimes in real life with people I don't know. And if I'm not taken with someone then I'm likely to shutdown a little.
If people take the time to get to know me then I'm just like I am on here. Probably even kinder, more open and more loving actually. |

"Oh yeah, I don't have an ego at all, in fact if anything I play myself down, I think that way things can only get better "
I have always loved that approach, politeness and humility cost nothing, i doubt i could maintain an over confidence or arrogance in person, its too much hard work and i would feel false. |

I'm way more confident on here than in person. I'm more mumsie and frumpy in real life. That's not to say my fab persona isn't me. I just keep it well hidden. |

I'm pretty much the same (with the obvious addition of clothing). A happy, daft, slightly scatterbrained, smiley geek with a slightly posh voice either way. |

I'm not great with names (use the notes feature for this) and so yeah tend to use the woman's Fab name or variations thereof or in special circumstances nicknames I create for them |

I come across more confident on fab. The day of a meet I'm a nervous wreck. I can't eat, my legs are like jelly and I feel sick. However after 15 or so minutes I tend to calm down and enjoy myself.
Nervous excitement is great. |

Would stop swinging if I stopped being nervous before a club / meet |

I'm pretty sure a lot of people feel nervous beforehand. There'd be no one left on here if we all stopped because of a few nerves. |

I lack confidence in real life - always have a bit of a terror moment before meeting anyone even for a social
I also can't benefit from camera angles and choosing the best pic from about 100 I've taken in real life so I'm sure I'm a crushing disappointment in the flesh.
On the whole though I try to be true to myself when I'm on the forums and not paint an 'alter ego' |

Brilliant thread
I'm just as gobby in real life as i come across on fab apparently |

I somehow have the ability to ramble like mad on here, yet face to face I struggle to find a word to say, even to people I know well sometimes.
And 'Kelly' as an alter ego allows me to be someone else in a way - most people who know the real me think of me as very reserved about sex, with low-ish self esteem but as Kelly it's so easy to become someone else and what I'd rather be like (confident, talkative, open about sex).
Which in turn helps out 'real me' in those things, win-win :] |

Dunno really. My pics are a pretty accurate portrayal of my body, but face-wise I'm prettier in person as I'm not very photogenic. Personality wise I'm the same as in the real world. A bit shy, but warm and smiley once I get chatting. |

I don't have a fab persona and a real life persona but the way I come across in written form highlights a different side of my personality to face to face interaction. Basically I'm not as grumpy in reality! |

I'm nicer and shyer in real life. Although saying that there's a few things I say in stroppy messages in response to idiotic messages that I'd say worse in real life if they'd said to my face what they'd said in messages! |

I've been told (a few times now) I come across quite blunt at times in the written form and that I'm nicer in person.
I'm quite shy/reserved at times, yet I'm more chatty and find conversation easier face to face than on here.

I'm a little more quiet to begin with in real person than on fab, but usually that goes within a couple of minutes of meeting someone, but personality wise, I'm exactly the same.
Unfortunately, I'm definitely more clumsy in person, as a table covered in got chocolate will attest to

Way over Yonder, that's where I'm bound |
I've been told I look taller in my pictures.
I rarely use my real name with Fab people now. There is one Fabster I've had the pleasure of several times and I still only know his Fab name. |

I don't know who the real you is but I know and accept all the realities of my 'me'.
Perhaps the title thread should have been taken literally and I should consider the pitting the Fab 'me' against the non-Fab 'me'? |

If you look at the Google ngram for it, it first appears in books around 1839 as a portmanteau of scrumptious and yummy. So unless you've lied about your age and coined the phrase back then anyone can be scrummy these days. |

Anything I say on fab I would happily say in person, the difference is on fab you are have a chance to chat more intimately with strangers than would be acceptable in real life with strangers. The concept is good but fails when the alter ego is the physical and mentally polar opposite of the real self. Fantasy yes,but not laaa laaa land |

I'm absolutely the same person here. Or I think I am.
That said, I'm possibly a little more shy and reserved in real life.
I'm not particularly great at breaking the ice with women that I'm attracted to in day to day life.
And I probably write a little differently to how I speak. But the sentiment is the same.
I think, why bother to be different? With the mask of anonymity in place, I may as well just be myself. There's nothing to loose, and when we meet, you will see me anyway, hopefully much more intimatly. Lol |
