It would seem they can't deal with Leap years
My direct debits, and my pay date, are due on Monday 29th, but the banks have gone and authorised the DD's today
Cue a round of phone calls to try and sort this out
That's my weekend f**ked |

"They would expect you to hop to it an pay up if it's your mistake. Be good if you could bill them for your wasted time. "
They're quicker than Eamonn Holmes in a bakers when charging you for an unpaid DD; but slower than an asthmatic snail when it comes to sorting out their problems |

"Well you should have money in ready for them, if you know they are due x simple "
I do when they're due on my pay day, that's why they're set up for them, sheesh ! |

Tell them you wish to make a formal complaint ... They have to follow a seven step procedure which should results in you being compensated ! |

The easyest way out of all the problems is not to keep emptying you're account all of the time or having an overdraft for emergencys.
The trick with the overdraft is not to use it though it just sits there just in case. |

I have enough to pay the DD's, but it only leaves me with minimal for the weekend, now, so that's spoils a few planned events
I just don't get why they don't take it when they're supposed to, and not move it forward.
I can only presume they're not set up for the 29th February |

I don't think they are, they can't quite cope with it. Luckily most of my DDs come out on the 1st so won't be affected. Hope it doesn't bugger up your weekend too much. |

I didn't think they can move it forward? Doesn't it have something like on or after a certain date when you set up a DD? If so then if your "on" date is the 29th and not before then I would complain to the bank |

Any company setting up a direct debit will not take any date after the 28th of the month for payment. As the 28th is a sunday the payment will go out the Friday before.
However as your pay is going in on monday some banks will allow you to draw from any money arriving on monday from the Saturday. I know Barclay does and possibly natwest |
