I have seen so many female profiles stating that they are into black guys but Caribbean heritage only.

Can someone explain me what is it about? What is wrong with African heritage?

I know I know, personal preference, but my question is what causing this particular personal preference

You would have to ask the women who state said comment, but I would hazard a guess at attitudes towards women and the prevelance of AIDS related illnesses in Africa, along with cultural differences.

Guys of Caribbean heritage are often seen as 'like us' whereas other blacks are seen as 'different' / 'foreign'

Preferences vary person to person. Iv not seen that on any girls profile though.

Maybe some have a preference for a stereotypical Caribbean personality as opposed to a stereotypical African personality.

Some others may see Caribbean culture/imagery as being sexier than African.

Is it because for some, their only knowledge of black culture is from listening to bob marley and ub40 and possibly that 2 week holiday in jamaica when they got their hair beaded?

I've not seen that on any profile! However, it wouldn't cross my mind to question someone about who they want as a sexual partner.

.

We now think it's probably around the Yemen-East African coast?.

Although there's still a chance we came out of Asia! And not Africa.

Evolutionary speaking it's quite easy to see why Europeans have narrow nostrils and long straight hair and Africans have curly hair and larger nostrils, there just physical differences born out of environment!.

Cultural differences are alot less obvious but are still pretty easy to define there origins

"Including blue eyes"
.

Brown eyes are actually dominant so if we make it another 1000 years we'll all have brown eyes anyway

Were a pretty mobile species these days!.

Besides I honestly don't think we're gonna make another 1000 years anyway, so it's largely irrelevant

I was told, by a black guy before anybody has a go at me, the only difference between Caribbean and African is Africans was lucky enough not to be taken to the Caribbean to work in the sugar trade, if it wasn't for the slave trade both would be African

With that in mind what is the difference

People won't though for fear of being linched

People aren't allowed an opinion on here without being jumped on by the majority

It's largely just culturally differences... That's what happens when a large section of society moves from one place to another for whatever reasons!.

Most of the "white" people around south Africa are from Holland and Britain, some still speak Dutch but with a weird accent, apart from that there's very few cultural similarities between the "same race" separated by 300 years of culturally different evolution.

And let's not forget, Africa's like a really really big continent with hundreds of languages and vastly different culturals to begin with, somebody from Glasgow speaks the same language as me (apparently) were separated by what about 250 miles.... That's nothing in most African countries let alone the difference between West Africa and East Africa

I also think a lot of recent arrivals from Africa are reviled by some as economic migrants.

They are put in the same bracket as the arrivals from Asia.

We've all heard how they are viewed by many. Not very well.

The fear instilled in many by the popular media spills over into the sexual.

That reminds me of that Chris rock line about looking over his shoulder for the media at the ATM.

BARBADOS

Hi ...came across this topic..thought I would respond....I have spoken to a few women on the scene and they say the difference for them is that Caribbean men treat women differently than African men...African men are a bit more aggressive and stuck in their beliefs about relationships....again this is what I was told. Yes Caribbean people originate from Africa but the beliefs and ways of life are different.

I think there is statistically also a higher sexual health risk on the African continent.

..History needs to be told...Carribean men are of African descendants and origin. .The only difference is they were slaves shipped to grow sugarcanes and work in plantation via route to the New World (America) where they tasted the brutality and inhuman treatment from their slave masters during the trans atlantic slave trade ..Not any difference to be honest.. just settlers that adopted their new home in the carribean...
