When is fab going to do something about the time wasters n fake accounts... We need a BIG RED button..!!!!
If accounts have no veri after 6 months should be taken off
If accounts have had no new veri after 12 months to be taken off
Grrrrrrr.... Rant over for today

But why should people be forced to meet?
Why should people be forced to leave veris?
Veris do not guarantee genuine.
And it's pretty harsh for people who can't get meets.
Like, I get people get frustrated by people who are "fake", but forced veris don't sound like the solution if I'm honest.  |

I've been stood up twice by veris ... Does that mean I should cry looking for a red button?
People will meet if they want to and sometimes you get unlucky or something unfortunate could have happened to interfere !!!
Just don't bother arranging to meet them again and move on  |

Only issue is what happens when you have a meeting that doesn't verify you as they are not verified, or just doesn't verify you. |

OP I meet and have verifications from when I first joined which I keep hidden.
With new friends I don't do verifications or ask for them as I choose to keep my friendships private.
Verifications aren't to everyone liking and aren't instrumental in my decision to meet. |

That's not what I meant! If the OP doesn't want to meet unverified accounts or have them thrown off, then all she needs to do is ignore them rather than have this 'big red button'.
I agree 100% with you - it took me a while to get verified and in no way am I suggesting that as a general rule for the site - just for the OP if she doesn't like them!  |

That's not what I meant! If the OP doesn't want to meet unverified accounts or have them thrown off, then all she needs to do is ignore them rather than have this 'big red button'.
I agree 100% with you - it took me a while to get verified and in no way am I suggesting that as a general rule for the site - just for the OP if she doesn't like them! "

You get fakes in all walks of life ... It would be helpful I suppose but very open to abuse! So I've no idea how it could be made to work  |

The only way fab can combat the fake accounts is by people reporting fake veris and none meets. If enoght people complaint a bout a account I'm sure fab would remove the account but what's stopping then makin a new account. It's the nature of the beast and up to the user's to keep thiers wits about them. I'm sure we have all at one point fallen fowl to a fake account. |

But you would also have the problem of fake "reports" like I could report you for a no show and would be very hard for you to prove otherwise"

Exactly what issue is they are causing you being on 6 months or a year and not being verified?
If you don't want contact from unverified people the site gives you the tools to filter your mails and block them. The rest is down to the individual as to what they want to use site for .
Why stress about those who clearly don't interest you ? Far more posative just to focus on the ones you are. |

Fab provides all the tools you need, except one.
First filter new and unverified members.
Second, don't look at new and unverified members.
Third, don't initiate contact with new and unverified members.
Fourth, use the one tool Fab can't give you and what lots of people don't have; a smidgeon of gumption. |

1.You can report no shows on " report profile."
2. Why should anyone have to have veris? They are meaningless anyway.
3. There are plenty of people who have had no shoes from verified people ( genuinely verified people, )
4. Lots of people don't get veris; some have difficulty getting them.
5. Some don't want veris ( I don't ; I have a few because people ingnored my requests not to leave them)
6. Just chill; learn to spot the potential no shows and fakes.

OP, we go many months between meets sometimes. This may be because we are not in the mood or because we can't see anyone we fancy. We rarely get taken in by "fakes," however, so cannot see a problem. Why do you see a problem? |

OP, if verifications are so important to you, use your filters to exclude unverified, and use your eyes to check the date of their last published verification. The information you need is already on profiles, so you can make the site work for you the way you want it to.
The rest of us will go on using our own common sense, and guess what? Some of us DO meet unverified people! So the site works fine for us, just the way it is. |

We had a 3 day long meet last week - but we have no new Veri's for over 12 mths. Doesn't mean we're fake.... Just that we value our privacy

Fab should design a "history" bar next to the person's profile.
Number of forum warnings
Number of forum bans
Number of warnings re abusive messages etc etc etc
It could also include number of historic profiles against the same IP address. This to work with a rule of no more than two live profiles against any IP address
Then we could see the people who are serial transgressors and simply close the offending profile and set up another
It would also be nice to have a very prominent "report abuse" button. The report goes to a moderator and if it's upheld a copy of the abusive message automatically appears on the abusers profile

Most home broadband providers use dynamic IP addresses nowadays. A new IP address can be generated in seconds, merely by rebooting the router.
And since Admin have said that only 1-2% of members use the Forums, a statistic on Forum bans would be irrelevant for the vast majority of profiles.
The site owners have been running this site for many years, and I think we just have to TRUST them, to have already put in place any/all technological measure that can help reduce fakes and timewasters.
The one thing that Admin can't give us - and the one thing that really works for me! - is common sense. |

"Fab should design a "history" bar next to the person's profile.
Number of forum warnings
Number of forum bans
Number of warnings re abusive messages etc etc etc
It could also include number of historic profiles against the same IP address. This to work with a rule of no more than two live profiles against any IP address
Then we could see the people who are serial transgressors and simply close the offending profile and set up another
It would also be nice to have a very prominent "report abuse" button. The report goes to a moderator and if it's upheld a copy of the abusive message automatically appears on the abusers profile

Well ive been here never had a meet or a veri but have some good friends and good chats in forum and chat room and been site supporter most of that time so im not fake maybe a little shy when it comes too meets though |
