Or Spinal Cord Stimulation...

Does anyone have any experience with this?

I've been given a booklet and some links to look at, and its all very wordy and scary sounding.

For those who remember my post about the lumbar sympathetic block, it didn't work so this is the next step.

I'm already doing my reading on it, but the interwebs isn't really the same as talking to people who've had it.

So if anyone knows anything about it and can suggest anything I should know about, or any other reading material, pretty please give me a shout

I'll be getting an appointment to speak to a nurse about it, but I want to be prepared.

Have you tried a good chiropractor? A good friend of mine was offered the block from the pain clinic but postponed it until she saw a good chiropractor that had been recommended to her, I can honestly say after 9 sessions she's never been better.

Problem with a spinal block is it masks the pain rather than cures it.

I know what a chiropractor is, but what is is that they'll be able to do?

I'm seeing a pain management team.

Physio hurts too much, surgery on my knee isn't an option but it's what's causing the pain in the first place (apparently). Painkillers barely take the edge off.

The block didn't work which is why they want to do the implant thing.

I worked with a bloke who had this implant to manage horrendous pain in his head. It worked really well for about a year but for some reason the pain came back. He never returned to work so I couldn't say if it was due to device failure or other complications with his illness. He said the operation and the implant under the skin didn't bother him at all as he was pretty desperate at that point, and the relief he felt to be almost pain free was enormous.

I've heard it can stop working :-/

Pain free sounds good, although the doc told me it'll likely just reduce the pain but tbh a reduction would be good enough!!

I might be able to give you more info in a couple of days as my mum has a app tomorrow with the spinal surgeons about this. The reasoning is to see if this would work avoiding a spinal cage which means major surgery.

If I find any thing more out I will let you know
