"Anyone over 58 is excluded.. Why? Is it because those over 58 tend to be eu sceptics?"
Doesn't the '58' bit refer to only those over 58 having been able to vote in the 1970s referendum on the 'Common Market'?
No suggestions that they can't vote this time.
If I'm wrong please cite a source.
Thanks. |

That's what I was thinking. Plus they were saying earlier that they are concerned that the older generation will vote for us to leave when they don't have to live with the consequences of it. We will all be fed up of it by June, be interesting to see which way the vote goes.

"Was on the telly. Did i miss hear? I was fiddling with a gadget at the time"
I'm not a current affairs expert by any stretch of the imagination but as far as I'm aware you need to be over 18 and be a UK citizen who hasn't lived overseas for more than 15 years. There are exclusions that don't apply in a general election though but an upper age limit isn't one of them. |

The older generation are often quite concerned about the legacy they're leaving behind for their children and grandchildren what an odd thing for them to assume |

I'm fed up of it already."
I know what you mean! Vitally important but so f-ing tedious. It'll be a true bigot-fest that's for sure. We'll need really good intuition to sort out truth from spin.
It's going to be a LONG 4 months! |

When we joined the "common market" my mum was worried because butter was going to be 7/6d a pound. I was mighty fed up with it in those days. |

It was radio 4 - that wasn't everyone's opinion - it was part of a debate on it.

Nobody over the age of eight should be allowed to vote. Grown-ups invariably make the wrong decisions. Open, enquiring minds should decide how things run. |

That was when there was a big fuss as petrol cleared £1 per gallon (= ~22p per litre!)! |
