I have driven an S3 V12 drop head and it was a wonderful experience
The original S1. 3:8 with glass headlight covers was the most beautiful car in the world according to Enzo Ferrari |

If there is such a thing as automotive perfection the E-type with all it's faults must be a genuine contender for that accolade...... and I truly admire all it invokes ....
But I'd rather leave ownership of these wonderful cars to people who singularly obsess about their possessions.....
I'm just not motivated that way... |

My old boss had one, sadly it was the v12 hard top. Still a great experience to drive.
Would sell my granny for a series 1 drop head though, or a Capri 2.8 brooklands |

They were and still are magnificent cars. The best car I have ever driven was a new V12 E type just delivered from the factory. I couldn't resist the urge to drive it and I salivated all the way. The memory still lingers like a long lost love.....sigh |

I'd agree with this - I'd love to own one but I'm sure there's people out there who would appreciate it more! |

near the sounds of the wimborne quarter jack! |
The early ones sound great and they look good and go well. The construction of the bonnets alone was quite a feat because the panels are all unstressed until they`re bolted together and actually change profile. Almost like tightening a drum skin! Would love to have a go in one but have no desire to own one though. Would prefer to own an older sports saloon like a Lagonda. |

When I was about eight , a friend of my Dad turned up in an e type , red , and the perfect example of the vehicle .
He took me and my brother out in it and ever since its been my dream car .
But I think I would just have to drive it all the time , and its value would diminish in no time .
I bet it's not easy to park either , with that long bonnet !

Yes he did. A great compliment indeed.
I think they are poetry in engineering.
Any idea what he said about Capri's? "

Did you open the dictionary at random pages, stick a pin on a word and hope that constructed a sentence?
I've had a capri, (commanche). I'd much rather have had an e-type...... |

Lovely looking car - Enzo actually said that Ferrari had never made anything more beautiful.
But, a swine to drive and live with.
If I was in the market (i.e. funds), I'd go for the Eagle Speedster, and E-type replica where they've replaced all the dodgy stuff like suspension, brakes, electrics etc. with modern high performance kit that is up to the job. |

You can pick up an S type very cheap, seen them as little as £650.
E type....not so cheap. But if you've got 50K to drop in a classic, why would you not get an intergrale. |

Everyone knows me as a car nerd. I love the form and function of them, but I never liked the E-Type.
The wheels are tucked too far under the arches and it looks unsightly and almost like they were an afterthought. The Mk3 was an utter dog too. |

£50k for an Intergrale?! I've had two and they never cost anywhere near that! I should have kept hold of them |
