I have, several times this evening. Try measuring your next one. It amazed me. I am not particularly girthy but it appears to be a trick of the eye...an optical illusion. I think it may be normal but I don't think people measure that normally.

A girth/length ratio of 1:1 doesn't look silly. It only means that length is about 3x the thickness (girth = thickness x Pi).

After a chatroom conversation on the subject, I measured my girth (out of scientific curiosity) and it was 6.25" - slightly more than length. It looks nothing like a tuna tin! - lol
