I don't believe in coincidence in the media and news. Funnily, I hear about someone or something I haven't heard of for years on a quiz programme question and answer or mentioned on a prog - coincidentally one or two days later there is a book out. In the days before the OBR/ONS we used to have better than expected figures when the market was in the doldrums and worse than expected when it was getting overheated...the two magically levelled things out.

------------------------

Take yesterday and today. Yesterday, we heard of a Virgin Atlantic airplane which had to turn around and return to Heathrow after the pilot had been blinded by a laser - coincidentally on ... a man Is jailed in Hull for shining a laser at a police helicopter.

My theory is that more incidents than we realise are choreographed and synchronised to influence the public.

It sounds like a potential attention bias at work Rachael.

Though I do agree that our state machine works full time with propaganda, including its former 'nudge unit' in this.

Just because I'm paranoid doesn't mean they're not out to get me.
