Fabs isn't Facebook?

Its been mentioned to us a few times that people don't like Fabs being used like Facebook. I, mark, really don't understand this at all. There are so many profiles on here and many of them never seem to do anything that makes them appear active. We often change our status to show what we are doing. Sometimes that is sexual sometimes it isn't but we think that shows that we are real people with real lives. Yes this is a sex based site but its also a form of social interaction which in turn makes it part of the whole social media concept. We were talking about this on our way to bghs the other afternoon and I wondered what other people thought about it? x |

We only have a few friends so rarely see status updates but on the whole I don't really mind what people put on their status...as long as it isn't that passive aggressive nonsense or ends in "you know who you are"  |

Doesnt bother me one way or the other, I think fab is what you make of it yourself.
Some want to be social with sex as a bonus, others it's all about the sex nothing else.
As long as everyone's enjoying themselves then I don't see the harm in doing whatever suits them. |

I do agree that all that "I've had enough" stuff does get a little boring. But I do understand that its a tough place to be at times, venting is part of being human.. |

Use it how you want!
Some would say that a lot of people use Facebook the wrong way with a minute by minute update of their day!
It's your profile and your status so sod what anyone else thinks!

This site is another way of communicating with friends, sometimes sexual and other times plain ordinary.
Better than FB as we can post pics and do other things that's not allowed over vanilla side, sometimes controversial, but mostly FAB |

Current status is a fun way to keep people up to date on what you're doing or looking for right this minute.
e.g. "just chilling and checking mails"

Good post OP.
Wether the complainers like it or not. This site forms part of the digital social media net. We all interact via this forum and private messaging. The Status, though not interactive gets a point across. Just like FB,Twitter and Reddit...it's full of fakes too.

Good point. I suspect people who use the forums _iew the site somewhat differently anyway and those who want it to be 'Instashag' might not like that. |

Tbh I think fab is there to be whatever the users want it to be!
For me it's about chatting shit on the forums, finding out where the best club/party nights are when I'm free, and arranging the occasional meet!
Some, I know, just want to chat on the forums etc! As long as people are honest about why they're here - whether it's 'fuckn'go' or just chatting - then I can't see it's a problem!
The only ones who really piss me (and many others) off are those who like to flirt/chat endlessly without ever really intending to meet, arrange a meet and then vanish! I'm sure we've all wasted many hours on them!
Tbh if people want to put what their dog/cat/kids get up to on their status that's fine! I may not be interested but it doesn't bother me! |

Certainly agree with this .
When we ask meets why they never use the forum the universal answer is that it's all talk and no action . Full of people who think they know it all .... Which is a bit unfair , but perhaps they have a point .
Sometimes , well actually most if the time we use fab like instashag for meets . It suits us .
And on occasion we ruffle a few feathers on the forum for this attitude . However , we are equally as happy with a bit of banter and chat pre play , especially of late .
Outside the forum there seems to be a much higher percentage of people like us . |
