"They need to stop with all these remakes, they usually end up disastrous..."
The only way they would stop doing remakes is for people to stop demanding another movie of what they enjoyed watching as a kid |

Eh no the reason for all these remakes is that it saves money, they already own the rights, have the storyline and know it'll make money, even if its just for one weekend.... |

Where have you lot all been, it's been in the news for over a year about the new movie, and the teaser trailer was released yesterday, the original cast all make cameo appearances (apart from Harold Ramis of course), I love the original but giving this one a chance too, I'm sure it's gunna stand on its own for the new generation. |

I think it stands a chance of being a decent film in its own right but I doubt that it will be anywhere near as good as the First film. It also feels a touch gimmicky.
I don't think many remakes ever capture the spirit of their originals and don't get that "lightning in a bottle" feel that made them special in the first place.

Fair point. What I meant was that there are people that always want to see another sequel of what their favourite movies. Some long waited sequels do well and some don't |

Ya sequels and prequels can do really well but not all, but a plain remake usually ends up crap...is this ghostbusters a sequel or just a direct remake? |

Just have to give it a go but we love the films from the 80s. In summer we have night BBQ and projector screen in garden that is about 12 ft high x 20 foot and we have movie night. A few friends from London comeup, a few dabblers, some neighbours (got invite neighbours as the garden full of speakers would piss em off. Ghost busters has been on there but when the world moves on the quality of films move on. A lot depends on characters that are chosen. If you can not gek with the characters then no matter what story line and effects are there the chances of liking it are going to be slim. As with most things on fab, you do not know till you try, kids attention can easily be attracted to a film is there is a good game on the x box and play station lol. |
