Can only agree.
I guess the warnings should have been there past few years when we have been scraping the barrel but surviving.
I felt like screaming in January. Whilst I appreciate it is dangerous to buy players when there is a significant risk of going down and losing TV money, no effort was made. It was like we had already resigned ourselves to relegation.
I just can't see anything changing. The squad has very few premier league players and those who are PL capable are past their peak.
The funny thing was before today we were c. 11th in form table.
I never thought I would see Villa being relegated. It will be very tough to swallow |

Admittedly didn't expect that score line but just goes to show how different Liverpool's season could have been if certain players had been available. Saying that probably eat my words next time we play and completely collapse! |

For once it's great being a Spurs fan. Best manager in the country by a mile. Ok we had some luck today but every team has that at some point.

I can never feel sorry for Premier League fans even if having a bad season.
When you support a team of perpetual lower league strugglers I'd bite your hand off for a 0-6 gubbing in the Premier League.

I fear Villa could do a Wolves and drop 2 divisions. Usually when a club goes down there's a handful of players other teams come in for but Villa are that bad I can't even see that happening. Two past it aging defenders and a load of foreign rubbish bought in the summer
Id scrap the lot, stick Grealish in the middle take a handful of the best academy kids then buy some experienced championship players and start again. If Lerner can't sell em while in the prem he's gonna be stuck with em once they go down
Liverpool are like two entirely different sides depending on whether Sturridge is fit or not. Although Villa made em look a lot better than they are tbf. |

Personally I think it's great that there's some of the bigger clubs in the championship..

I have to say even as someone with only a passing interest in footbal but as someone from the other side of Birmingham it has been quite enjoyable following The Old Historians progress this year |

Cheer up op, looking at where you live, it could be much much worse lol, shame you couldn't pull a baggies, still the only team to be bottom at Christmas and still survive the drop.
To be fair I never saw this poor performance this season coming, just like I never saw leicster doing such great things, if it wasn't for them we would still be calling ourselves the pride if the midlands lol COYB ATID |

We are both Pompey fans - it was good in 2008 - we bought the FA cup and with it brought new fans who have now once again deserted us. The lower league teams are followed by true (some say stupid)fans of the club and the atmosphere both at home and away is fantastic. |

Think changes from the top down (owners) needs to change at the villa....I think you have a decent manager but only so much he can work with. ...

what has happened to villa is criminal and should be a lesson learned on all fans wishing for foreign ownership.
the yank in charge at villa has been running it down for years selling his best players and not replacing them.its inevitable that relegation would come sooner or later?
villa not down yet but I doubt even tony pulis could get them out of the mire esp given what he would have to work with.

I think that to some extent, everyone in their career needs to decide whether they are better off as a big fish in a small pond or vice versa. Liverpool seems to be the death bed for strikers who were better off (competence wise) as key players at smaller clubs. Financially it probably worked out better to be glorified members of Liverpool training team though. |

The way in which we have fallen in the last 5 seasons is appalling. We are the 5th most successful football club in English football, I have seen us win everything except the FACup (last time we won that was 1957 ) I also saw us go from old first division to the 3rd and back again.
Small Heath Alliance might actually half fill their ground next season !
I enjoy banter but dislike the violence and hatred that comes with that fixture. I don't think outsiders know how bad it is. |

It was a pub. Unfortunately it's closed now as the area doesn't really support a pub anymore as its in a Muslim area where very few drink. They opened on match days and it was always full but the site owners were offered more to lease it out as a car sales pitch all week.
A lot of grounds are in areas that have changed enormously over the last 100 years or so.
