"Well apparently scientists have now discovered the meaning of life. And there's me thinking it was all about swinging swigging singing. What do you think is the meaning of life " meaning off life is simple, survival and taking care off yourself but most importantly those around you especially family or friends etc....you can get caught up and demoralised by life's hard ships and bull shit /evils and let it twist and consume you and turn you into something unrecognisable... Or you can pick yourself up dust yourself off and be happy and greatful to be Alive another day where you can do something good for yourself or someone else in need.

"yes it did I feel like the creator himself told me them words " hehe it's true though life is not meant to be an easy smooth care free thing it's a tough thing to experience full off different challenges every other day now the question is how do we handle ourselves in those situations also do we learn and become better/stronger or do we come out worser? |

It is often assumed that the science-based worldview implies that life on this planet is a meaningless accident in a universe that is indifferent to our existence. Humans struggle to find purpose within this purely naturalistic understanding of reality, and so they supplement it with beliefs in supernatural processes and entities. |

"Ceejay
Is that not more of hierarchy implementation though? Like control mechanisms?
Religion, empires and now commercial oppression?
" kind of but just my opinion |

Prime numbers are what is left when you have taken all the patterns away. I think prime numbers are like life. They are very logical but you could never work out the rules, even if you spent all your time thinking about them.

Survival of the species and in its rawest form - procreation.
I'd go one further than that and say being the best parent you could possibly be and create another decent being to continue the cycle. |

We do not own or posses our life.
life is lived through us -- the life force!
So there is no life, only life force.
we choose how to let the force manifest itself through ourselves.
Life is collective like an ideal, not an idea.
Ideas can die, ideals never die.
So spiritual death can be revived thus
making a resurection possible. |

In simple terms I think we keep coming back to do our best to live up to the great universal omnipotent creators blueprint .
When we have done all that needs doing we no longer come back , we become part of the nirvana we all strive to reach , and our physical body is no longer required .

Life means more to some people than it does to others, whether that's their own life or somebody else's. I think lots of people have a sliding scale of the meaning of life according to the location, nationality, social status and colour of the life concerned.
For me life means continuation of the species in the least harmful way possible...well I can hope. |

It's a really strange thought - that this is all there is.
Planet exists for so long, there are so many people and things out there -but as the guy said , Hobbes I think - life is nasty, brutal and short .

Please could you give details of the scientific article you refer to. I would genuinely like to read it (and it might cheer me up!) |

So would i. He'd probably get a forum ban if it's not in the daily mail but like give us the Papers name or Author (both if possible).
I've come to the conclusion that the meaning of life is to tell everyone to fuck off. |

in very simple terms - to procreate - that is the one biological reason we are here - anything else is just one person's "idea" of what the meaning of life is (particularly those that don't want kids - shit - await the attacks on here!) - but that's it basically. |

Live, reproduce then die...that's what life is.
We're stepping away from this and building a considerable sausage dog army and taking over the world.
Resistance is futile, you can't walk without your ankles |
