Interesting, I normally leave them up till the next family member has a birthday, well when they lived at home that was... (3 weeks later)

Ideally a week, two weeks
Realistically FOREVER, seeing out their existance stored away in unusual places, because one day i might want to look back and say, theres that googly eyed monkey card that made me nearly think about laughing |

Usually a week or longer, special ones get kept, well they all get kept then about every five years they get sorted out.
All my cards and gift tags and wrapping paper from my 50th are in a special box
