how to people perceive social meets only

So (fem posting fantasy81), my wonderful better half is being posted away for work for a couple of months

So I'm seeing what people think, there will be no playing when he's away but social meets, be it coffee, a drink, or a social evening in a club, for me is ok.

What do other people think about this, would you be put off or meet up anyways (not just us, but I'm taloing in general)?

I meet people for coffee or drinks all the time. Usually they are people I know from the forums, but its fun and enjoyable and there is no expectation of playing (in fact, an expectation that there will not be play).

With people off the forums, I would say it really depends on the person and your end goal. If you are having a social with the expectation that, if all goes well, you will play when your partner comes back, then I think people may be up for them. If these are people you already know, then I would definitely have a coffee/drink/etc. if it were me. Just talk it out. The worst they could say is no.

Sounds cool to me, it's always good to increase your circle of friends. As Courtney says, who's to say that you may not arrange a play meet at a later date

Thanks Courtney, I have no idea what the end goal would be. Right now, its just meeting like minded people who I can have open and honest conversations with, with no need to hide ourselves and what we like in life.

Coffee is coffee after all, and I love coffee

You have to do what makes you feel comfortable and the people you meet socially will fully understand that.

There's nothing wrong with meeting just for coffee or drinks and its a great way to make new friends.

This is making me feel a lot better, don't want to just leave and come back, I love making friends especially with similar views on this lifestyle

I asked a bloke about meeting for a social meet ( see if there was a connection or not ) he then replied with " you need a dating site for that sort of thing " needless to say he then blocked me

I'd not meet, even with my other half, without a social (unless in a club)
