The Sahara lies 20 to 25° north of the Equator and we're considerably further north than that. 30° for the UK is extremely rare so it makes sense for it to be a headline news feature, or should the papers keep running the depressing shit about the Middle East and MP's expenses?  |

besides the heat in sahara is dryer than here so has less effect on loss of fluids...my hotest ever .46c on the birdsville track to alice springs ...dryest state in dryest country ...
and a pissed off scared goanna stuck on my head ...and digging in nicely cobber...

yes, it's the humidity that makes all the difference. 30+ is no big deal. Sahara was hitting 50+, but as you rightly say, it was dead dry. Was drinking 2 litres per hour and never needed the loo ! |
