.....my insomnia thread that is.

For past few nights keep waking early and then awake til more or less dawn!!!

Paranoia has now decided to team up with insomnia and drive me ever closer to the edge. Will I won t I sleep?

Anybody else struggling with same?

Me too with insomnia. If I get off by 3am it's a good night. Was awake till 05:30 Monday and had to be up 07:30 to get ready for docs apointment.

As for paranoia I know the barstewards are out to get me...

Had a couple of late nights, work, night out etc....

and since then the old body clocks gone AWOL.

Tempted to buy Kalms but don t like I idea of popping pills.

is it just a recent thing, could something be playing on your mind.

You can do a sleep hygene programme is it persists didn't work for me but I know it does for others.

Try not to obsess by it. Do your normal routine and go to bed normally.

Switch the phone, tablet or whatever your on off and just rest, sometimes I get a couple of nights where I manage a full two hours before I wake up and can go back off again. Sometimes I must know I'm not going to sleep but I just rest. Mines getting a bit better now some nights i can get up to five hours.

you should get into a routine.. Stop watching telly, or look at any other screens.. The blue light can trigger yous brain to stay awake. Do something like take a shower.. Etc.. And also dont use your bedroom for other than sleeping or sex. Yous brain will associate your bedroom with sleep or sex then will behave accordingly. If you wake up in the night do not look at a phone or anything as the blue light will stimulate yous brain.

Every day most times now in awake over 48 hours, really would not wish insomnia on anyone ,I've had mine years and my doctors are not concerned.

What do you all do while you awake? ?

My meds prevent me from having any semblance of a sleep pattern. Been awake since about 5pm yesterday. Can regularly go a couple of days without a wink, or just doze off in ma chair for a couple of hours

I tried kalms but they didn't work after a while. ..I do use a sleep app on my phone though that plays a variety of sounds/noises. ..I can vary the sound level till I get a feeling of calm...timer switch for it to go off in set period. ..now occasionally fall asleep within 15 minutes

Im terrible for this. Even if i switch everything off im mostly tossing and turning all night. Nytol doesn't work and makes me groggy. I have backache so cannot get comfy so that don't help either! Opening a window usually helps especially if im too hot, im really funny about temperature.

Just wanna say thank you to you guys.

I actually slept last night, 5 hours. YAY

I think talking/ sharing my problem took the tension out of it.
