Year of the monkey!

Happy chinese new year fabsters.

Now we are in the year of the monkey I started watching the 1978 series of the same name. (Remember it?)

I vividly remember being glued to the tv as a child and thinking this was the best program ever.

Revisiting it as an adult I came to the following conclusions:

I must have been on drugs; it makes no sense.

They must have been on drugs; it makes no sense.

I must be on different drugs; it used to make sense

Has anyone else put their nostalgia specs on to revisit a childhood favourite only to discover it was a bit naff?

"Trippy Taka "

She was hot. In a weird virginal untouchable nun type figure way.

They all turned out to be shit, except for:

* ITV's Knightmare

* Richard Curtis/Tony Robinson's retelling of the Iliad & Odyssey

"Arr Pig"

I always wondered how Pigsy could fight with that weapon he had, it looked like a large garden rake?

Programme was a bit strange, monkey hatched out of an egg at the beginning???? remember Monkey flying on his Pink cloud in the sky and the theme tune was very catchy, monkey magic, monkey magic!

They put re-runs of Knightmare on the challenge channel late at night now. The theme tune for that was pretty catchy too.
