I think there's a qualifying criteria for naming a storm.. Ie it has to have a mb pressure below a certain figure.,. It's not quite just naming windy weather, if you know what I mean.
December was the warmest wettest December on record and January was the second warmest on record! |

There's a list on the Met Office website. I take heart from the fact that, given the limited number of names and the need to avoid repetition, eventually there will have to be a Storm Nobby. |
