It's a different kind of pain to leg or eyebrow waxing since they use a different kind of wax but it doesn't last long and the results are well worth it. The breezy feeling on the walk home afterwards makes me smile for longer than it hurts. |

The more often you have it done, the less hair there is the next time. I've been having my legs done for years and when the hair does grow back it's much sparser. Pussywise I have a Hollywood done and after a couple of years it's easier each time. Don't be afraid to tell the beautician you're a newbie and she'll have to instruct you as to positions and whatnot. I'm now confident enough to ask her if she can flip me over and make sure she gets the whole lot. |

"Never had one done at a salon and thinking of treating myself but what should I be prepared for other than pain....and what type of waxing is best? "
It doesn't hurt that much at all. Only a few strips are more sensitive than the rest. I love having mine done. I get a Hollywood every 3 weeks. |

If they use hot wax it hurts far less than getting your legs done because that's usually strip wax. It's pretty undignified but if you get a good beautician they'll get it all off! |

I have hot wax for bikini, and strip wax for legs.
You get what you pay for when it comes to beauticians, it costs me £73 total for both but at least it's done well, less painful and hygienic. |

I've had a hot wax done for a Hollywood wax for the past 4 years at a salon. I just find its less hassle then trying to do it yourself. They do loads of them and don't bat an eyelid.

Hot wax every time. Yes, it does hurt, yes it is embarrassing, but worth it. You need a good beautician who knows what they're doing, I'm now friends with mine and no longer embarassed. Good luck xx |

Hot wax, hurts but the pain goes away almost instantly leaving a lovely smooth finish, seems to last for weeks before the little buggers reappear en masse |
