I think its going to be close this year;
England are on the back of a slump in form and have a new coach, captain and players.
Ireland seem to be in a bit of a transition year after losing some big players.
France are always an enigma.
Wales and Scotland had decent enough World Cups so should be looking to push on.
Italy can upset a few teams on their day.
Im looking forward to it and hope England win the Championship. |

England will always be the favourites but just by virtue of our larger population and more people to bet. The smart money will go on wales, more stable side than Ireland who just lost another legend and England who need to find fluency and drive after the world cup and seismic changes |

A little bit of my heart is with the Scots, who I think will finish 3rd. They had a few great games in the World Cup & whatever team you support, you have to admit they gave it their all in their last match. I was on the edge of my seat screaming at them.
Being English I'd love for England to win.
Who knows..... time will tell.
Just wish I was at Murrayfield again. I love that place. |

I obviously want Wales to win, but I don't think we have the strongest squad. We're very thin in a few key positions, TH prop being an obvious one. FB is another.
We did cope with injuries well in the RWC though, I guess.
If Eddie Jones can get the backs firing in the short time he's had, England will be dangerous I think (sadly ). |

I agree but England's game has always revolved around the scrum and attacking the ball at the breakdown, I worry that they will struggle to keep their discipline in this area with the way jones wants them to play. If we give away penalties I this area its goodnight no matter how well your back play |

Missed a trick not studying to be a sports physio. Imagine being able to rub and massage all those players during and after the game. I'd be on their thighs then going up and up and stroking their dicks and they'd be saying is this part of it and I'd just say ssshhh now it's supposed to be like this! Imagine I wouldn't be employed very long! |

Reckon Wales have a good shot it at! |
Reply privately (closed, thread got too big)
Even though the current England setup is a bit of an unknown for the minute, I firmly believe that England are the team to beat.
They've got a very talented squad, and their change of coaching team should mean a change of style too. I expect lots of high ball and good chase to compete for every kick.
England's backs are fast & agile, they will be looking to run. I predict a big score this afternoon against Scotland.

A back to full strength Wales will be difficult to beat, although it will be interesting to see how England develop over the tournament with a new coach and captain. I hate to say it but they have great potential it just needs the right leadership. How it will finish;
Wales
Ireland
England
Scotland
France
Italy |

England are home against Wales and Ireland which is a nice little advantage.
When Wales are good, they are very very good. They play for tries and actually run the ball.
If England beat Wales then can win it. |

i don't think it is even that.... it is that ireland are playing miles quicker around the ruck....
thats is harsh if that is called a tip tackle.... earls never lifted him, liam williams jumped into him so earls had no control on how to put him down.... |

because rugby is now a 23 man game.... you'll find 9's or 10's only play 60-65 minutes anyway so they will be use to it..... |

"Good game so far but I want Wales to lose big time !"
I don't like uncontested victories, I want both sides to fight for it. Makes for a much better match to watch. |
Reply privately (closed, thread got too big)
"Wales seriously need to get it together.
Desperately
Do you think a pivotal player like Biggar going off the pitch has an effect on the team or would they be used to players going on and coming off?
because rugby is now a 23 man game.... you'll find 9's or 10's only play 60-65 minutes anyway so they will be use to it....."

"Is it just me, or is the atmosphere dampened ?
Maybe it's the broadcast coverage "
it's the coverage, - I had to turn up to full volume & still the roar is dampened. |

Imo, judging by the six teams' performances this weekend, - the winners of the Six Nations will come from today's game, although both teams will be unhappy with the draw. |
