I've not got it yet but its in the post, I'm just glad I can see the signs now so I can do something about it, before I go full on morrisey.

Anyone else suffer with this kind of mild depression? How do you deal with it? Hoe did you develop your coping strategy?

Me I go.and look for beauty in the world, play games with my son, the kind of games that make the house look like we've been robed, listen to.music, look at art, its harder to do in winter but looking at the beauty in nature.

If any one else is going through it, hang in there, it will all turn out ok.

Exercise.. Will boost natural endorphins... Hope the fog lifts soon

I think a lot of people suffer in the winter.. Due to lack of vitamin D from no sun exposure. Maybe try a supplement

I cant say ive ever been depressed. Ive got down at times but im pretty resilient.

For me though i take my camera and just keep walking. I looke at the world differently with a camera in my hand. Notice things i would normally.

Sounds strange but i find old buildings especially derelict one have a peaceful beauty to them xx

It's good you can recognise the signs and have developed coping strategies. I think exercise can be a massive help and not getting over-tired. Plus soon Spring will be here. Just be extra kind to yourself and natter on here if it helps.

You have given me a top idea, ill go and look at the architecture of Birmingham, its a good mix of old and modern and everything in between, a bit of lunch, nowhere posh, burger king always gets me up.

Have a look at one of my favorite spots, in the bullring the top tier, ever since it was built I've had thoughts of jumping off it and landing on one of those air bags that the stunt men use, knowing my luck though I probably wouldn't jump.high enough, and slam into the barrier and do myself a mischief lol

If I feel a little glum I walk pooch. Once we are out I get lost in the beauty of the countryside.

I also practice mindfulness, its a away of keeping you in the present and stops you over thinking.

It keep me a jolly happy chap

I do love walking along the old canals around Birmingham, the gas basin used to be a pretty good place until they built around it. Having a moody disposition myself (bouts of depression) I find the best thing is fresh air away from the madding crowd

Can't beat the feelings, but distraction works well. You sound mature enough to recognise the signs and cope.

Exercise as others have said is excellent. Lift weights or run. Even 20 minutes will pound endorphins and dopamine round your system.

I find reading a good book my best coping strategy.

Urbexing? I find old airfields can echo with history, esp the wartime ones like Scampton.

little house on the praire

Everyday I go out the house, I get showered, put something nice on and go out sometimes it's just taking myself for a coffee, I look and find all the lovely things about life. Anyone who knows me kmows what an achievement this is. I try and notice things more.

We have a blossom tree in the churchyard, every week I go past it I look at the changes from the week before.
