I suppose it depends on the pub, but I have always been fine with it - I make sure I save up all the texts that need deleting first so that I look very busy on my mobile phone until the person arrives! hehe x

Erm... I'm quite happy going to bar on my own. I think I'd probably go on my own whether I was meeting someone or not!

Although I've never done it as yet. I just started going to the cinema on my own last year... I LOVE doing that. It's ace! No-one to say what film I see and no-one to steal my popcorn!

Our village has a pub and working mans club and Kate regularly goes to both on her own. I rarely drink now, and don't feel good going to a pub to drink soft drinks, so I tend to stay in. Kate plays darts for the ladies teams so there is always someone out any night of the week.

She wouldn't go into town for a drink on her own though.

My 19 year old daughter will do a lot of things on her own...theatre, cinema, sight seeing, going for a meal etc...I've not done one of those!

If I'm away on business and have to stay in a hotel I'll usually have room service. I've never gone into a pub on my own to meet or have a drink.

It's really daft, nothing phases me: I can stand in front of a tribunal judge and put my case, I can walk into a MoD disciplinary hearing and not be phased by the panel of uniforms looking down on me, literally, I can chair interview panels, give presentations etc...but walk into my local pub and order a Peroni?!! Can't do it...yet!

It's weird because I have been travelling for business for years now and end up going to a pub/restaurant on my own to eat about once a week... I don't bat an eyelid...

But the thought of walking into a pub on my own to meet someone is totally freaking me out

I am sane - honest

well I work away from home most weeks...

Always eat in the restaurant/bar and never consider room service as I hate the bedroom smelling of food when I want to sleep.

I go to pub/theatre/cinema on my own when I feel like it. No arguements about what type of film you want to see.

I go on holiday on my own if I want a break. Although going with friends is good it is the easiest way to break up a friendship.

Going into pubs , bars , clubs , cinemas......what ever has never bothered me.

The alternative is not going in. No contest.

little house on the praire

Never bothered me in the least, have always done it, however, i do live in a small town. On the times ive been in the city and gone in for a drink waiting for the train or whatever it does seem to attract some "odd" attention.

Its never bothered me. Have often walked into a pub for lunch sat down with my food a drink and a book. Dont care what people think. First took myself off to the cinema alone when I was about 15. Been away for a weekend on my own too!

In the summer i often go to pubs on my own. I dont see why i shouldnt just because im single. Yes you get stared at but what the hell. When its hot and sunny should us singles be expected to stay in doors......

i've done it for years. quite often go for sunday lunch and take a book. do get a few odd looks every now and then, and its always women with kids.

like many others i feel comfortable going to the cinema on my own and up until last year, I had two holidays a year, again on my own! not because I don't like other people, it's just easier and like someone else said, saves breaking up friendships with disagreements. i've made many friends on holiday, although my mum thinks I'm sad.

neither of my two sisters who dream of doing anything alone, in their own words, gotta have a man by their side at all times.
