White has to be hard, no sign of 'snottiness'
The yolk semi hard around the outside & runny in the middle.
Served in an egg cup with bread n butter soldiers on the side |

"I don't eat eggs but if I was having a boiled egg I'd boil it in a pan of water
Yeah but if you were having it for breakfast, would you have it runny with soldiers or hard boiled? " well I used to make them runny with soldiers for my son. But I know people that boil them the night before and have them cold

I couldn't seem to get it right not matter what.
If I attempted a runny yolk it didn't matter how long I cooked it for, it was either hard boiled or had those "snot" white bits, so I just stuck to hard boiling them.

4 minutes then a minute to stand before cracking. Hard white (no snot), runny yolk but just on the turn so a little bit is hard. Dippy soldiers and loads of salt. |

4 minutes boiling , served with toasted bread cut into soldiers - with proper butter spread on.
Has to be served in a proper egg cup too, a China one. Although recently I couldn't find mine, so resorted to an espresso cup! |
