Well i got a pay rise and had a phone call from an old friend which was really nice.
You get bad days so the good days seem even better. |

Went to the pictures on my own earlier and watched Hereafter, partly why I am emotional lol
Should have had the Ben and Jerrys, then fallen into a carb and sugar enduced coma, that would have done it |

Become a Lake!
An aging Hindu master grew tired of his apprentice complaining, and so, one morning, sent him for some salt. When the apprentice returned, the master instructed the unhappy young man to put a handful of salt in a glass of water and then to drink it.
"How does it taste?" the master asked. "Bitter," spat the apprentice.
The master then asked the young man to take another handful of salt and put it in the lake nearby. Once the apprentice swirled
his handful of salt in the water, the old man said, "Now drink from the lake."
As the water dripped down the young man's chin, the master asked, "How does it taste?" "Fresh," remarked the apprentice.
"Do you taste the salt?" asked the master. "No," said the young man.
At this, the master took the young man's hands, offering, "The pain of life is pure salt; no more, no less. The amount of pain
in life remains exactly the same. However, the amount of bitterness we taste depends on the container we put the pain in.
So when you are in pain, the only thing you can do is to enlarge your sense of things a bit...
I like licking the nougat from the inside of a walnut whip..whilst `aving my toes tickled...curiously it makes me giggle...

So is the container we have to use pre-determined, do you think?
Got me thinking now.... bit like a funeral I was at where someone said that God never promised to deliver us from suffering, or help us in this life, afterall, he didn't help his own son, did he?
But he did promise that with faith we would eventually come to make sense of it all...... still working on that bit, admittedly |

"My family make me happy, the beauty of the place I live makes me happy, I just wish I could bottle the essence of it all for those days I'm unhappy. xxx"
One thing I HAVE learned, is that it is as unnatural to be happy all the time as it is to be unhappy, and to allow myself to feel it with out indulging in too much self-pity! That way I can appreciate the happiness too, and treat it the same way xx |

Hugs to OP!
I have days like yours too, luckily they are far and between.
What makes me happy? In no particular order:
My cat lying on my chest and purring
My dog flipping over on his back so that he can have his tummy rubbed
My pets on my lap and chest
Walking the dog
Cooking and enjoy the result of my labour of love
Waking up every morning and realise I am still alive
Camping
Fresh Air
Clear bright and white winter mornings
A great job that I enjoy
Great friends that love and support me without being judgemental
Great food that is cooked for me
etc. etc...
Simple pleasures really, and quite a few are free!
Life is grand! |

Money makes me happy. Shallow I know, but alas true.
And I don`t want to see all this "money isn`t everything" and "money doesn`t buy happines" shite, as the only folk that pass such comments are common peasants and n`er do wells. |

Kisses xxxxxx jo |

I'm always happy. It takes a shitty tosspot of a person to rile me and when that happens I usually tell them that it's a real pity they threw the wrong part away after they were born. That fucks em off no end and I walk away happy happy happy!! |

"Have I mentioned that Sausages make me happy ? "
On holiday in the Lorna Doone valley I spent a day by the cristal clean waters of the brook, relaxing in the long green grass under the shade of an ancient tree, listening to the laughing, gurgling brook, the sounds of the birds and the soft sunlight filtering through summer leaves. A lady walked by and I greeted her. She returned my greening and said "store this moment for the future".
When I am down, this is where I go.
Wise words. |
