London

A woman came home after been out all night, and her husband asked 'where have you been'. Her reply was 'with my best friend

So whilst in the shower he called ten of her best friends and asked if she was with them last night. And all ten said that they hadn't seen her.

The following week the husband stayed out all night and on his return home his wife asked him the same question, he in turn gave the same answer 'with my best friends

Whilst he was sleeping she called ten of his best friends. Eight said that he was with them last night and the other two said that he was still there with them

"Stop me if you think that you've heard thus one before"

True the statement is a light-hearted joke but The question still stands

Most of my friends are from my school days, but when I mention this to woman most don't have any back that far after they've reached there 30s

I've been friends with one of my best friends since I was 3, the other since I was 11. Over half of my friends are from school. Others I met at 18. I've only acquired a few of them in the last few years.

Not sure where that fits into your theory but it's not really something I've noticed.

I have known my oldest friend since I was 11...so 48 years. I have one other friend from my school days and another from around 15 years ago, all women.

I don't think gender makes a friend though, my absolute best friend is Mr N.

Chams or Socials

I've know my best friend since we were 3. I think we know pretty much everything about each other.

I have another very close friend I met when I was 20 & another I met on here in November.

I'm still in touch with friends from primary & high school - some I could call if I really needed to & know they would be there for me. I found this out 4 years ago when my support came from those I didn't expect it to.

I went on a date with my childhood friend. He was my friend from when I was 4,right up until I got married and he came to my wedding. He was my husband's neighbour and they were friends. My childhood female friend I knew since before we went to school and right up until I had been married a few years we saw each other frequently. We keep in touch through Facebook

I'm still in touch with friends from Senior School. Two of my closest friends I've known since I was 18. The others - mostly from my 20's and early 30's. So they've all be around at least 10 years or more.

Good friends are those you can ring at 2 in the morning and it's no issue. Plus they've seen you at your worst as well as at your best and they're still your friend.

Sarah

Really? I'm still close freinds with 2 people that came to my 1st birthday party, half a dozen people who I went to primary school with (age 5 onwards) and nearly all of my friends are people from sec school (age 11-16)

Its not a theory that I've got, its just that in conversation, that most of the woman (please note for the 2nd time most) seemed surprised that my friends are from junior and junior high.

I've had three partners in my life and none had friends from school.

Maybe I should stop socialising in iffy wine bars, and the local conservative club.

I don't know if I've got the wrong end of the stick here, but I don't think the people who I would class as my best friends would lie for me.

I don't know whether that says more about me or them.

My best and longest friend is Mr B, we've known each other since our early teens.

The rest of my friends are mainly from college or from various jobs over the years.

I'll be honest and admit that I don't always keep in contact with them as much as I probably should.
