Sky need to get their arse in gear and update their technology. It's getting left behind. And the porn is shite.

Your location has much more of influence on your internet speed than your provider, however ask sky if you can get fibre we didn't think we could get it as we are remote but even if they can only run it to the closest junction box it's still much faster, we went from 0.5 Mbps to 18mbps.

Sky fibre is still shit compared to when I had virgin's fibre optic, that gave excellent speed and reliability.

the problem with sky internet is that you use a BT line and BT tend to cut the bandwidth for sky users

hello OP, I get what you mean as I'm with sky internet and it particularly starts messing up every now and then and goes on self heal which is annoying especially when the weather is really crap. What I did was get a booster box and it more or less cut down the crap connection. Now mind you it still pops up sometimes but overall it has been for the better and has improved for me.

Sky use bts infrastructure.. If the bt infrastructure in your area is old / poor.. You'll experience slow loads, crashes and.. Buffering issues.

I was with TalkTalk fibre for ages at my other place but ws persuaded to go to BT (for the free BT Sport). Utter shite. Moved house and BT wanted 3130 to 'connect'. So said sod off and asked Sky. No fitting charge, no connection fee, £6 delivery and £16.40 a month. And its as fast as TalkTalk Fibre. And I live in the middle of Suffolk. Can't fault the Broadband of the WiFi to be honest

I now get BT Sport off a 'certain website' for free ..

Coleford, Forest of Dean, Gloucestershire.

Our Sky package works well for our family.

For me peronally I have no problems streaming high quality porn using Sky wireless. It is very quick and very reliable. Sky wireless has given me hours of high quality wank time.

PS.

I would never ever go back to BT for my internet.

I think BT stands for Bloody Terrible lol

If you're a sky broadband customer you're using bt by proxy. Sky use bts open reach infrastructure. Many don't realise.. If they experienced problems with bt broadband.. They're fucked re other providers that use their infrastructure (all do, talk talk, sky et all)..

The only real competitor that owns and operates its own network is virgin. Price differentials not withstanding.. All providers bar virgin use bt infrastructure.

Unless you live around Hull, where the infrastructure itself is owned by Kingston Communications.

sky, major mistake for me, was with talktalk, great service no problems, then sky offered a better deal, disaster for 2 months to even internet back on, at current broadband goes off for about 2 minutes every hour or so sometimes more. still got another 7months of contract left, and im cancelling then, either back to talktalk or plusnet. unable to get vmedia here, not in this area yet.

I'm with sky it's working fine for me. 20 Mbps and that's knots even fiber. Your broadband speed has nothing to do with the provider. It's the area you stay in.
