My broadband/phone/tv/multiroom is with Sky. Been with them yrs & paying £82pm for the broadband to constantly crash. You would think paying that amount pm it would be perfect. Anyone else with them & any problems?

We have the full package. Almost £100 a month. Broadband been fine in the most part though it does drop now and again.

Paying extra for both Sky go (to save to device) and also for ancient films in sky movies. Both are just wrong given the costs already involved.

I had poor broadband with them so told them I was leaving. Tried to join BT and the two companies were supposed to communicate between themselves to sort it.

I went through the process times five times with BT. Literally had me pulling my hair out as for reasons I still do not know, their system kept sending me back to a certain stage. Ended up speaking with sky who told me they had fibre so stayed put.

I was stalking someone's twitter yesterday and then just replaced the router with a netgear one and were fine. Might be worth considering

About to ditch them as similar problems. Other half works from home in the morning and complainshe broadband is always crashing.

Wanted another phone line for his business but they can't do that...nope, looks like it's back to BT. He was with Virgin, equally as bad!

I'd switch to Virgin if not for Sky Atlantic, and some recordings on my Sky box I don't want to lose.

I've tried that.

Virgin and Sky are roughly the same price for what I want. Virgin will give me a 50% discount for the full year contract. I rang Sky with proof of this and said I'd leave. The best they could offer was 25% off for 6 months.

I'm not willing to tie myself in for another year for that.

I'm still considering what to do.

I could download the Atlantic shows I like, probably, but it's a lot of hassle and it's naughty.

The third time that Sky Broadband failed me, I left. They made it bloody difficult but I finally managed it....I am now with BT (for better or worse) and at least I get BT WiFi all over the place, which saves me a fortune in mobile internet costs, especially at work.

The land of grey peas and bacon

Just got off the phone to sky after I'm having to decrease my bills after lodger moved out. I was paying £38 a month they have now reduced it to £17.50 a month and given me free broadband for the year. I'm just paying line rental they were so helpful and have taken off all the extras such as me paying £2.50 a month as I didn't have sky TV. I didn't even know they were doing this. I've decided to stay with them as I don't seem to have an issue with my broadband.

Where men are men, and sheep are nervous...!

A mate of mine is in the satellite install game. This subject has come up many times and he always says the same thing:- 1. chuck away the router the provider gives you (as most are well out of date in terms of speed, even when they first give them to you), 2. stop being a tight arse (in my case!) and 3. go and spend £150 on a 'proper' up-to-date router... most of which are a minimum of 4x faster than the one provided when you signed up...

Worked for me at my old place, admittedly two years ago, but I went from a 300bps (??) one to a 1200bps one (again, ??? - not sure of the terminology) and didn't have a problem after that. Basically, the service is only as good as the weakest link... and that's most likely the router sitting in your lounge.. or wherever.

I have Virgin fibre optic broadband and it never let's me down.

I pay £60 a month for tv, landline and broadband, but I'm ditching the tv and phone because I never use them. Wouldn't even consider switching my Internet though, it's extremely reliable.

I also have Virgin broadband. The speed is great and it's been very reliable. In over two years I haven't had one problem.

I wouldn't swap my BB provider either.

Sky Atlantic is on NowTV. That's £6.99 a month. It also has Living and Sky One. You could buy a NowTV box or a Roku stick/box. The Roku will do you for Netflix and Amazon Prime too if you wanted them.

I have multi-room with Sky and would drop my second box and use a Roku stick and NowTV but my broadband is too slow to stream video.

I could but I don't want to pay for NowTV and Virgin, and I don't fancy NowTV as my only TV service.

I'd still lose the stuff I have recorded on my Sky box that I want to keep.

Near the end of the month in the post will come a great deal.......

We got all channels, HD etc all full works for £33 per month for 12 months plus £100 credit on our bill (effectively first 3 months then were free)

Been with Virgin media for near on 15 years never had an issue with them for broadband only issue was when sky decided to fuck a lot of VM customers bareback by over charging for the basic shit they give free to their sheep. However since reading a few threads on here I've now got a kindle fire stick and installed kodi, apart from having issues finding decent feeds I love it.

Paying £73 a month for everything, really want to get it down (well I don't really know why I'm worrying, it's my exes house and up to him what he pays but want to save him some money each month) the kids watch all the crappy channels so can't get rid of them.

Been with virgin for many years now, never had an issue, if we have its been a problem within the area and fixed ASAP, we had sky originally and always having problems, I don't miss sky now with the bad weather!!

That said though, with all the blooming devices in the house now the BB is struggling sometimes

"What is a kodi box? How does it work? "

It's basically a programme that runs on a box that allows you to stream videos off the web. Most sky programs and even movies are on there. And if you want some there is plenty of quality porn channels too
