My shoes depend on what I'm doing , my Oliver Sweeney shoes are my go to pair when wanting to be looking sharp , depending on the type of trouser or denim jeans I might depend on the cut or tailoring as to what I sport on my feet .

I love shoes. There not much I can shout about, but in Fab terms, my shoe collection is VVVWE!
Maybe I should photography them up against a Sky remote and display on my profile?!
If there's a better male shoe/boot collection in Scotland, I'd be surprised and very upset.

"I have far too many shoes for a straight man. Current favourites are my Loake Ox Blood Brouge Boots "
I am in the same boat...the other day I counted my shoe boxes...yes I keep them in their original boxes ...and discovered I have 16 pairs
Ironically, at over £300 my Sidi cycling shoes are still more expensive than any of my regular footwear |

It's a huge turn off for me, a man in bad shoes.
If casual I think things like converse look good ( can't be doing no bright white Nike trainers )
Can't beat a nice pair of brogues! Some funky casual boots can look good too. |

Knew you'd be on this thread! Lol
I love a guy with a nice pair of shoes as it usually means they take pride in their appearance. Smart shoes to go with a nice pair of trousers and a top, shirt etc can look very good

Yes, but team trainers with a pair of Asda jeans and a nice synthetic football shirt and you get a really classy look |

Clean, I can honestly say the type of shoe a guy is wearing has no consequence as long as it fits the occasion .
I would say the only time I'd notice a guys shoes would be if they where scruffy and or dirty

What, you wouldn't even notice if he was in a pair of 'leatherette' shoes with those fat Velcro straps that fasten over the top |

Oh, I couldn't possibly countenance wearing 'rented' footwear...they even have to spray it to disinfect it before each new customer ...I invested in my own ski boots for this self same reason |

I bought my own ski boots for the simple fact that they fit me properly, and I don't end up crippled by the end of the week |

"They often say that you can tell most about a man from his shoes...
What kind of shoes do you women like to see a man wearing?"
Old-fashioned I know, normal shoes with a good polish does it for me. Add a suit, shirt and tie and I go all wobbly |

"I've found myself wondering about 'slip ons'. Aside from a pair of Rockport deck shoes, I don't own any 'slip ons'....are these ever acceptable footwear? "
Of course - you can get some very high class loafers. My favourite shoe for men would be elegant brown leather Oxfords, but I really don't worry unless they are ugly or dirty. |

Dirty riding boots would be fine too...or a pair of muddy Hunter's surely |

They are the best - make that leap .
No more faffing about with shoelaces.
You will feel liberated , plus they're usually very stylish |

No, not convinced...and there is something very reassuring about taking ones time to lace up a sturdy pair of shoes or boots |

Just plain loafers, no tassels or any of that European sweater-over-shoulders malarkey.
bending down to do up laces is no fun anymore! On and off in a second works best I have discovered !

I've moved from owning one pair of hi top magnum boots to owning two pairs of hi top magnums.
They're comfier than trainers, as light and flexible as you like, more supportive than anything I've worn and fully waterproof so you Can use them for stomping about the fields and great outdoors.
Give em a wipe and a quick once over and they're good for a wedding or whatever. Never worn or owned anything else for years and years now...no proper shoes, no trainers no wellies ....nothing...My boots do the job of them all and i just don't need anything else |

What gets me with mens shoes is when you see guys with those nasty looking asda George specials no shape to them squared fronts almost like clogs. I do a real face palm when I see those! *WHAT ARE THOSE! |

I was going to start a 'barefoot' thread but I don't think I'll risk the exchange of abuse from the pro bare and anti bare contingent in here.
Put simply, it's your own choice if you go barefoot and you can pick up all manner of STD's (Standing Tall Diseases), but it feels more natural pmsl |
