I often make my own pizzas from scratch. I find pounding the dough therapeutic and I can have anything I want on them and I'm often found wandering Asda trying to find some new,tasty topping.
Suggestions welcome |

Chicken and bbq sauce is one of my favourites. Do you mean an ordinary bread roll? Soft or crusty? I've used French stick and Paninis before. |

I've never eaten artichoke,do they have a strong taste and are they slimy? I love onion preserve,never thought of having it hot. |

That's more or less our basic pizza,without the basil. I put bbq sauce with it sometimes. |

I prefer my pizzas to be mainly vegetarian, I like strong cheddar, extra tomatoes, pineapple, oregano, onion, mushrooms and peppers. Meat wise a little ground beef, possibly ham if I'm adding pineapple and occasionally pepperoni
Fairly conservative I know.
Calzone I like with lots of meat, bolognaise and meatballs |

I can only eat the tuna. I can't stomach seafood. It sounds nice but the texture puts me off. |

One of the most pleasant pizza surprises was a chicken caesar salad topping
Slices of tender chicken (cooked) then when out of the oven, topped with baby lettuce leaves, parmesan and a drizzle of caesar dressing |

I used to make a no yeast recipe base, was very biscuit like with whatever toppings my girls liked...the best pizza I have had in a while was pepperoni ham and black pudding at a festival nomnomnomnom! |

Sounds like that one was 'adapted' for tourists tastes. I've had Quattro Stagioni in many places in Italy (it's my absolute favourite and rarely seen on a menu in the UK). The name means Four Seasons and it's usually a veggie pizza with produce from each season arranged in quarters on the top. I've had all sorts on it, the best being one with fennel along with the artichoke - scrummy! |

Try a twist on a classic. Cheese and ham for example. Rather than just ham and mozzarella, try a fancy applewood smoked ham and tallegio cheese.
A good tomato sauce is key though. When you have a good one, keep the recipe!

A recipe I gathered from Corsica years ago.....
Baby spinach tossed in chilli oil, spread to make a bed, make a dip in the middle, break an egg into the dip(a duck egg works really well)and sprinkle with a few bits of goats cheese....Yummy! |
