Good man. I knew it'd be a Scot who replied first

I'm hopefully off to XOYO in London in March to see Chris Liebing, Nina Kraviz or Len Faki. Wish I could see all 3 but they're playing consecutive Saturdays for Scuba's residency there

ah that Balatyne's one? Yes that's an excellent set, and my oh my would she so get it. It's not just her looks, but I adore how animated she gets behind the decks, you can really see that she loves what she's doing, shaking her lovely little bum. And for such a pretty, petite woman, she sure does drop some right belters!

Bit of a soft spot for electro-hop

Been listening to world class wreckin crew.

I used to do some producing but using hardwear.

Korg emx-1 as a synth and drum machine

Kaoss pad as an effects processor and sampler

Kaossilator pro for addition synths

Electro hop eh, that's a new one to me

Kaoss pads are so, so cool, and the Kaossilator. Could sit there and play with one of those for hours

Korg make some wicked gear, when playing live I had to do everything in real time, unable to line anything up so used the KP3 to fade in and out, over 8 or 16 bars.

The emx-1 electribe is really fun to sit and play with, does take a while to learn how to manipulate the sounds.

I used to mainly make DnB or dubstep.

Using dual oscillator set on sawtooth and square, heavy cutoff. Play around with the modulation and switch between it set at 1/8 or /16 and you can make some nasty wobble bass

Throw some sine wave bass underneath it all and try to resist making the bass face

Sorry mate, you've lost me haha. I really know nothing about production, or even technical sound terms!

I tend to compare basslines to things like, one of those big plastic toy boxes being banged with a rubber hammer (oldskool Swedish techno, a la early Adam Beyer sets), to a huge big rock boulder slowly tumbling down a hill, gathering momentum and speed (a la Chris Liebing schranz set)

Haha sorry

If you just DJ a emx would be next to useless.

Stick emx-1 electribe in google images and you'll see it's just full of buttons and dials all for sound manipulation.
