A cup of tea, and abstinence. Regular sugar fixes (including fruit) prevents your blood sugar levels stabilising. Complex carbs in the morning give you a more slow-release sugar fix spread over the day.

Yup, go cold turkey on all sugars for a fortnight, including fruit, and just force yourself to eat something more protein based, and the cravings will ease.
In an emergency buy some Atkins sweet products from Boots, they have them at eg 1g carb per bar, I couldn't do without them! |

"I'm addicted to sugary things. I can't go a day without craving it. What can I eat that will help?
Apart from cock. Obviously "
Just avoid it. Sugar, that is, as opposed to cock.
Even fruit should be eaten in moderation as it usually contains a high proportion of fructose, which is sugar.
Once you have excluded high sugar content from your diet, your taste buds become very sensitive to it and you will find it is not something you enjoy.
Damn, give me that sticky toffee pudding now. |

There are no artificial sweeteners without horrid tastes and chemical effects, I am afraid. I don't think spitting on food is a great idea, either. Oh, was that sativa? |

Try eating coconut. Naturally low in sugars but seems to satisfy that sweet craving. - please note - a bar of bounty doesn't count also if I'm craving a 'pudding' I have a piece of cheese. I'm a complete whore to sugar so try and be good and wean myself back of of it every now and then.xx |

Xylitol is an excellent sugar substitute that actually has a few health benefits, such as reducing tooth cavities. It is also less carcinogenic than sucrose. It also tastes a lot better than other sugar substites like stevia. |

No its not...
The only studies that found anything provably wrong were on mice and were injections about equal to drinking 90 liters of sweetened deink in one sitting.
So the water would kill you first |

Like many alternatives, it is still a compound with sugar at its base (and, yes, much less than table sugar). And like many alternatives, it can cause effects such as bloating and laxative.
Why add any synthetic crap? Just avoid. |

Ditching sugar is hard but worth it. It takes time to reprogram your tastebuds and the headaches in first month are a killer.
But once you have eliminated as much as possible it gets easier.
Then reintroduce healthier options.
Look into a low gi diet.
And stuff that can stabilise blood sugar such as cinnamon.
I use agave nectar on my porridge, only a small amount.
Carrot sticks are a nice snack.
Ultimately if you need a fix it's fine in moderation.
Dark chocolate is far better due to the antioxidants, but still high in sugar.
Good luck |

Great advice, I gather a low gi diet will also help protect against type 2 diabetes too! |
