The other day I was talking to my manager who had me on hands free, the echo meant I could hear myself.

Cringe mungus, yikes.

Really really really hate the sound of my own voice.

Do other's feel like this or if you occasionally get to hear it do you think, hmmmm actually quite sexy?

I always cringe when I hear my voice. Objectively there's probably nothing wrong with it, it just sounds weird to hear.

Also why is it the people who have the most annoying voices just can't shut up.

Our next door neighbour has the most shrill, ear piercing voice. But is at it constantly god I hate her.

Hate my speaking voice, unless I have a cold, then I sound like a cross between James earl Jones and vin diesel, but I love my singing voice, even if no one else does, if ever there's a Birmingham karaoke social, bring ear plugs LOL

When I was younger I had to take speech classes because I said some sounds the wrong way.

Part of the classes was listening to ourselves talk to actually hear what was wrong in our speech.

It was awful listening to myself like that. I've disliked my voice ever since.

That's an interesting point.

In our heads how do we think we sound or would like to?

If I had a choice it would be Brian blessed.

I would prefer if my accent wasn't so bastardised from East Midlands and Brighton and id prefer a deeper timbre.

Not quite the speech problem I had. If that counts then I should still be taking classes.

Since having singing lessons it's highlighted to me certain things that I do when I speak that I never realised before ~ like pronouncing certain vowels & extending the S at end of words to a Ssssss.

I flip between sounding very London back into Home Counties which is weird.

Cringy having your diction scrutinised on a weekly basis
