Right, it's early enough in the day that we could get in what we need.
Question is - what shall we have for our Sunday dinner tonight?
Had fresh pasta last night, so not that lol.
Not totally in the mood for a completely traditional Sunday roast, so if you have any interesting variations, let us know.
Cheers ta!

How about a break from meat? If you guys were inviting me round for lunch, I'd love a quorn pie (done as a steak and ale pie style with puff pastry), lashings of thick gravy, oven roasted vegetables and sweet potatoe mash, oh, and Yorkshire. |

Idea 1:
Select your steak (fillet beef, venison, (bambi) reindeer, badger, whatever )
Cook RARE!!! Grrrrrr! lol
Serve with dauphinois potatoes and roasted veg:
Carrots, fennel, beetroot, turnips, swede, etc
Idea 2:
Onto halved frenchstick,
Drizzle olive oil,
Loads of mixed leaves- watercress, etc
Shredded roast lamb, cubes of roasted butternut squash, shallots etc
Drizzle with dressing
Top with pomegranate seeds. (I promise it's lovely)

Really - all these great ideas and you go for chicken - is that a vanilla rub you're using?
Thought you guys were a bit more adventurous, obviously not |

'Apparently', if I dare say "burnt roast chicken, rock-hard, charred potatoes, raw veg, watery gravy and yorkshire puddings that look more like pancakes" I'll be told to cook it myself.
So I won't...
(dinner will be served when the smoke-alarm sounds )

"Reindeer steak ...
From lidl .....
Is that any good? Intrigued by some of these specialty meats but afraid to try."
try them, in other countries what you call specialty meat is the norm and most are very tasty |

I'm not feeling too great today and don't really fancy eating so I'm going to make some leak and potato soup. If I make a big enough pan my son will demolish it with a loaf of bread and not notice the roast dinner is missing. |

We've just had leg of lamb with roasties and mint jelly (my fave).
The dogs have just had the leftovers plus cabbage, carrots and pea so they will be fart sacks all night.
But.....what can I make tomorrow with all the leftover lamb? |
