With the country on such a high terror alert at the moment it has to be concerning the amount of flares still currently getting into football grounds?
They are brought in to be fun and never meant to course injury but These things can cause serious damage if it lands in the skin of an individual.
My point however is the are a forbidden item which staff should be looking for. However every Saturday some d*unken idiot will always manage to set a flare of it a football ground.
It shows how easy it is to get supposedly forbidden items into grounds. |

Easy - kids smuggle them in
Stewards never search kids |

I have seen my 78 year old mum patted down properly before going into grounds and others not searched at all.
And yes it is right that they give them to the kids to look after.

Surely anyone firing one in a stadium would be banned?
Personally I couldn't care less; I detest football , and everything about it.
But I can't believe there are not already measures in place to deal with offenders if caught? |

It is a banning order for anyone who is found to let them off. Sadly most of the time you cannot tell who has let it off.
Stewarding in most grounds is very poor. |

Considering they are classed as an explosive substance, I personally believe they should be stopped getting into football stadiums. |

When I first saw this post I thought it was about flares you wore reminding Me of the 1970,s, these and the actual Flares being talked about I did,nt Particularly like then, and the torch Like ones I still don,t like and think They are Dangerous where ever they are Used and with safety laws more about I,m Surprised flares have not be Categorised As such and banned, its has thou their Always waiting for a tragedy to happen before anything is Done.. haveing said that I,m unsure If Any tragedys have occured..? |

The point of the post is they are banned and a forbidden item. Security is meant to be at its tightest due to terror threat but they get it I stadiums every week |

I over looked the banned part, which is a Good thing, there are always enough Idiots Around to cause Unnessary mayhem Where ever it may be, not for one minute Would any of them think about terror threats if it was up on screens in Front Of them and if they did they,d carry on Regardless, another useless sad side of Society we have but could be the same Anywhere if they can get away with it. |

At old Trafford I get a full pat down and doubt i could get one in I wanted to
The best atmosphere I have ever had was at Wembley vs Poland and all the poles had flares going off
A proper old school atmosphere |
