I am a geek. I've come to terms with this, but I always thought playing D&D was too geeky for even me.

Turns out I was wrong. I'm loving the story telling element and becoming immersed in the imaginary world... Even if my rolling is crap.

Anyone here play a bit of dungeons and dragons?

That's about all I remember of it apart from the cartoon, but my uncle (who was only 10 years old at the time not a full ass grown man) would have his little friend over cos they'd have games going on for weeks and he'd be like have you taken all the dice again!!?

I do think a lot of DnD's problems stem largely from the people that play............I speak as a "Dungeon Master".....

There’s a gaming club near me who’s starting a campaign up.

If I’m honest I can’t be arsed to learn the rules for another game.

Already play 40k and the batman miniatures game which is surprisingly pretty bloody good.

Got a full set of nicely weighted Dice if you want to improve your rolling.

From d4 upwards...

I love D&D!

Me and a few mates from my college run campaigns with each other all the time. Actually just finished one up a couple months ago that had been running for over a year and a half.

I was playing a Dragonborn Fighter as the tank of the group and had so much fun haha.

I'm DMing for the next campaign we do, setting it in a Pirates of the Caribbean inspired universe and I can't wait to start it.

5e is really great, but if you want simplified, easy-to-pickup D&D, then Pathfinder is the way to go, although it is quite limited.

There's also a really great site you can use to play D&D online as well, it's what me and my mates use since we struggle to meetup properly.

It's called Roll20, pretty easy to find on Google - another way we geeks don't have to leave the house! Haha!

All you need is an imagination, some dice and pen and paper. You need nothing else to role play. (apart from lots of black coffee to keep you awake after playing for 50 hours straight )

I remember when the movie came out in the cinema.. I was actually waiting for a group of kids at a theme park to go on a roller coaster and get sent to another world.. where they face a bad guy called venger.. they are given weapons by a small guy with a white long beard.. one a bow and arrow.. the other.. a magician.. a shield.. a club.. a invisible cloak..

Damn I was disappointed!

I have this necklace with the 'One Ring' on it from Lord of the Rings and I have to say, it was pretty cool to have props too.

It's actually on one of the pictures on my profile haha

I do enjoy the idea of Roll20 alongside discord but I prefer the face to face aspect of it

Yeah, me and my mates would use the Webcam feature on Roll20 but Discord for the voice chat because Roll20 always seemed to have some latency problems that would send it out of sync.

Playing IRL completely destroys all of those problems though haha, although I do like how easy all the math is when you use Roll20 since it does it all for you

I remember generating a wonderful female elf scout as a very young teen... I loved playing her, charisma and dexiterity of 17 and 18...

In truth I still play her on a regular basis but the need for a character sheet and a d20 are long since gone x

I was talking about this to a friend the other night about how I miss playing.

We all used to meet up on a Saturday morning go get pizza's, snacks, drinks and a few beers and go to my mates and get lost in a adventure for a couple of hours with laughs, anger, frustration all thrown in!

Good times

You know I was literally thinking whether anyone on here would play! Random

I’ve been playing for a couple of years now, mainly 5ED but have also started a Star Wars age of rebellion game with some friends. Also gone a bit RPG crazy myself and bought Tales from the Loop (kinda stranger things esque) and Star Trek adventures.

Just find it hard to play because I work a two week shift pattern
