Not just women, it seems pretty equal. Can't see anything wrong with putting a ?little goodbye thread and then leaving but it gets to the point where some of the goodbye threads are so long and drawn out they last longer than the people are away

The ones who say they're leaving at least twice a week, or have a ranty status about how shit this place is (actually, that one tends to be men)...they're looking for attention. Some of the others, and they may well be in a minority, it's just to let people know who they've chatted with. |

I'd say the leaving threads are pretty gender balanced, to be honest. People post them for various reasons, I'm sure. I think the main ones are:
One because they've enjoyed forum banter and genuinely want to say goodbye.
Two because they want a mic drop toys out of the pram moment because they have been slighted (or feel like they have). Sometimes that one comes with a veiled 'fuck you' to someone specific.
Three because they're having a fab wobble and want everyone to pile on and reassure them they ought to stay.
That's just my opinion. If I ever leave and decide to post one on the way out I'll have to rejoin just to answer the question categorically, I suppose. |

Men do it to say good bye to people they have interacted with, or the hope that someone will pity fuck them in an attempt to ease the pain of not being capable of getting a shag on a sex site...
Women, I guess for the same reason to say bye to people they have interacted with, or a hissy fit because the bad men have been horrid and they MAY not have utilised the site tools to minimise that pain..... and /or drama

If I was ever to leave here I'd post a thread to say goodbye because I like the people. The only thing that would make me leave though is if I found myself a boyfriend and I would obviously share how I managed to trap him. |
