Crossing the road

Has any one else noticed that more and more people are dashing across the road just feet away from a pelican crossing? Even worse, twice today I was approaching crossings, the lights were green for me but people were just stepping out in front of the traffic! I raised my eyes in a 'why' kind of way and got abused for it! Lovely ladies! Has anyone else noticed this total lack of intelligence in simply crossing a raod? Z

I work in central London and have to admit to crossing the road whenever I see a gap, regardless of whether or not the "green man" is flashing (oooh that sounded a bit rude) but if you don't, you just won't get anywhere. I agree with you though, us pedestrians should be a bit more considerate, it's the drivers who get blamed if we are splatted by a car.

Everyone is in a rush these days and they think drivers will stop anyway.

I can understand it in London, but in Wigan? Whats the rush? A lot of laziness too as they can't be arsed to walk a few more yards to the crossing! Ah well, there's worse things in life I suppose but it just seems to be getting worse! the green code man needs to start visiting schools again! Z

Even worse are the people who stand at the side of a zebra crossing, and give you evils if you dont stop..... highway code says its their right of way if they START to cross, but these silly buggers stand back and glare at the traffic, I just keep going lol.

Even worse is when people either have a pram with them (which would get hit first), or dragging a small child across. Teaching such bad habits for when they are older. If my grandchild is with us we wait for the green man at crossings even if there is no traffic, just to teach him the right way.

There is a place not far from us where the silly twats will stand at the crossing until the green man turns red and the cars start to move, the idiots then start to cross the road and give you filthy looks when you blast the car horn at them.

Thing is, it happens time and time and time again ... why ???

Having said that, if anyone's been to Ashington, they'll know what a bunch of interbred dorks and no hopers a lot of them are, so that probably explains their stupidity ...
