Just because you are clean now doesn't mean you will be next time and it may be something serious that you will regret.

Some people are just more aware of that and as such are more protective over their own health.

To be fair lots of people publicly say omg no.... Yet we have seen groups of strangers at clubs not use a condom at all....

We are not pro or against but choose to use protection for full sex ... But are aware that sexual contact in any form has risks

I wonder what kind of job requires STI checks every 6 months.

Is every 6 months frequent enough to avoid infection? And do you get a certificate otherwise why should others believe you. xxx

I think the risks outweigh the benefits for many people. You say you get checked which is great but the potential is a partner who doesn't get checked or whom is unaware of any issues and may be carrying an sti which could be passed on.

It's a risk only you and the person or people you are with can agree to take, but what would happen if on your next check an sti is found, how will you react as it's such an unknown?

I wouldn't say that people are "haters". It's just risky, that's all. To some people, including me, it's just a big no no.

However, you're very much entitled to do what you like with your body. Who is anyone to tell you that you can't?

No, she is perfectly entitled not to answer. Just as we are entitled to ask. And it doesn't seem off topic to me. Whether it is safe for her to make a periodic check is sufficient is the topic....but I'm not criticising we are just discussing a subject she raised

Some people think that barebackers spread disease- they think using condoms make them 100% safe. Bless.

I guess 'hating' another group of people makes them feel less guilty/ worried about fucking strangers.

There is a cruising area in Brighton very common with the dogging fraternity, middle of last year several people were diagnosed with HIV, a bisexual male who had it had barebacked several people and spread it. It was found out that he got checked out regularly as well.

So, you regularly get checked and on one of those occasions you're told you have something you can't get rid of, e.g. herpes.

Then what? Stop playing? Tell everyone you may have sex with what you've got? Or carry on regardless?

I know which option my cynical self tells me the overwhelming majority will opt for.

"Condoms do not really stop stds as much as people think. How many people have given unprotected blow jobs/ oral then insist a condom is used makes me laugh. "

Why... It's a considerably lower risk to give oral without.. even more so if you don't do it to completion

I insist on condoms for penetration but would never give oral with a condom on.

Most people contract HSV1 in childhood. They weren't sucking off loads of cocks to catch it. HSV1 isn't primarily an STI, saying a lot of people have it doesn't mean that you shouldn't protect against HSV2.

I work in a sex club they require you to be tested every 4 weeks, if you don't you don't get any dates for the following month untill you provide proof of testing

Saying that the club I work in is a safe sex club, customers are told condoms are a must but you wouldnt believe how many guys are willing to have unprotected sex, I've lost count of the times that guys have put a condom on asked me if they can do me from behind and took it off without me knowing and tried to have sex

Is anyone using PrEp treatment? It provides as near 0% chance of infection, coupled with your choice of behavior, as you're going to get atm.

I'm guessing that thousands of us here will have contracted sexually transmitted viruses etc and never ensured we were clear of them, whilst still having sex.

If your job requires you to be tested, surely that means there is a risk of you passing something to people you work with (colleagues, clients, patients, etc etc) or why would your employer request regular tests? That would mean you were also putting your livelihood at risk if you catch something, no?

I've only ever had sex with a condom once in my life and another time when a guy put a condom willy inside me for literally two pumps. I've never caught anything (touch wood) well I've caught feelings but no nasties. If I was more sexually active and slept with multiple people I would have protected sex but i have sex once in a blue moon and I'd have asked enough questions or gathered enough information to know that that person is clean and had all clear test results before I slept with them. I know I'm fine because I have all clear blood and all the other stds test results from June last year and not slept with anyone before I had sex again. In 3 months I'll have tests again for peace of mind so I 100% know I'm ok before I sleep with anyone else.

I'd rather be honest and I don't give a shit how many questions I ask a person before I decide if there's any risk to me by sleeping with them.

It's not just cleanliness. Toys can absorb odours. And they can be damaged by certain types of lube.

Doesn't mean we don't find it horny... we do!!!

Oral with protection no thanks!

Although V is starting to think when giving bj's, wearing protective goggles would be sensible, apparently it stings!

Laugh."

"There is a cruising area in Brighton very common with the dogging fraternity, middle of last year several people were diagnosed with HIV, a bisexual male who had it had barebacked several people and spread it. It was found out that he got checked out regularly as well. "

Maybe because HIV isn't routinely checked for?

The post that the majority do it behind closed doors suggests doing it knowingly though, not half the couple sometimes doing it unintentionally.

I've encountered men who try to 'accidentally' lose the condom before entry too. It's a shame because that's the end of the meet.

It's a risk only you and the person or people you are with can agree to take, but what would happen if on your next check an sti is found, how will you react as it's such an unknown?"

Personally, no. But I don't consider the risks associated with oral to be the same as the risks associated with intercourse so I'm comfortable using different precautions for the two.

I once over heard a conversation with a husband and another guy at the club about this scary thing. I heard him tell a guy that he likes creampies but if some guys won't go bareback with his wife he would give them a condom with a difference. The difference was it had been pricked with a pin so when it was put on it didn't break but after a couple of thrusts it would break inside his wife and if the guy didn't realise he would cum inside her only discovering when he pulled out that it had gone.

Very scary and such a shame as his wife was hot. So now I never accept any condoms of people and bring my own.

I read a paper on it a few months ago.

Studies are still ongoing and there is a serious concern from medical researchers that just as we've seen antibiotic resistance, that we could also see PreP resistance at some point and the AIDS crisis could start again.

The new (well new-ish), and more virulent strain of HIV that was found in Cuba last year should also be of concern.

A world of my own

Aside from the obvious health concerns.

For me Bareback is something id only do with someone really special to me. Such as a partner I was in a relationship with. It's so much more intimate in my mind and should be respected as such.

On here I'm aiming for no feelings or emotions. It's another thing that provides a barrier to them as well as being vital.

I don't think people hate it. I think on here it scares. Rings alarm bells.

What you like is your biz but don't spread complacent dangerous rubbish.. Unsafe casual sex is danger. If you haven't been stricken with anything yet you've been lucky. I'd say quit while you're ahead.. Many women have contracted HIV through that type of behaviour.. Or traumatic abortions. It only takes one dirty dick and you're fucked for life hun.

Buy condoms and see a therapist about your health endangering behaviour.

Considerably! The WHO studies over the last 20+ years of the difference in infection rates where sexual conduct is the same either side of the Rift Valley (the only difference being the men on one side are circumcised and not on the other) are eye popping in the difference!

Well worth looking at (and considering as a preventative measure by all males)!

The problem with the study is that to first start a chain of infection you have to have a catalyst.

The right people have to have sex with each other to start and continue the chain of events.

I am not saying that the study does not have worth and I am not advocating the non use of condoms But all the guys getting cut is not going to stop them or partners catching an STI, if it was only so there would be ques miles long LoL.

I'd have reported it as assault.

I've never thought of it that way before x

Actually, it was rape. As soon as you did not consent....and he must have known you did not. Was that someone on here?

Yes he's on here a couple account. Wish I'd dealt with it differently now instead of just ignoring it. Cheeky twat even asked next time we saw them if we fancied playing I was like no thanks prick."

Im sure admin would like to know who it was...

"I know this is slightly off subject, but with all this talk of condoms protecting against HIV and other forms of protection against the virus you never see anything about getting circumcised?

Are you saying I lowers risk?

Considerably! The WHO studies over the last 20+ years of the difference in infection rates where sexual conduct is the same either side of the Rift Valley (the only difference being the men on one side are circumcised and not on the other) are eye popping in the difference!

Well worth looking at (and considering as a preventative measure by all males)!"

So what about the HIV/AIDS rampant in the gay community in the USA where circumcision is the norm for a high proportion regardless of religious background?

Is it and is it?

All I know is that statistics are being manipulated to keep the threat of HIV as a tool to control sexual activity and still the WHO say circumcision reduces infection rates over time by 60%! Yet they do not recommend it as part of a HIV/AIDS reduction/irradiation program!

I also know that since the late 80's it has been know that a course of AZT to those newly infected kills the virus stone dead (a cure) and since the mid to late 90's it has been know that there is about a 28 day closing window from time of infection to treatment for the cure to work (again independent WHO studies). But this information has been suppressed in the UK and USA. Here in the UK the only people being offered the treatment being emergency services and health workers who have blood/blood contact with a known HIV+ person (on NICE advice).

So you tell me...

A much higher proportion of US males are circumcised as a matter of course than in europe.

Statistics are always manipulated by people. Thats what they are there for.

And since you know so much, who exactly is covering up all this data?

ah! although the WHO seem to say that circumcision can reduce the contraction of HIV by males from women. Googling tells me that there is no statistically significant benefit in transmission between males through anal sex

Selfish people that are only interested in their own enjoyment bareback. Saying you get tested means nothing really, as like a car MOT it just says you were roadworthy on the day of the test.

I personally wish that you could tell who barebacks and who doesn't so I can avoid them like the plague.

Actually my source is the UN World Health Organisation. The discovery of AZT's ability to kill HIV in the very early stages of infection after the reason for HIV 'false positives' in newborn babies in 2 clinics in SA was found to be nurses giving AZT to babies born to HIV+ mothers at birth in direct contradiction to their orders to leave the babies untreated. The babies were HIV+ at birth, 3 months later they were free of HIV.

That's not strictly correct, AZT does not kill HIV after (and that is the important word) the viral load reaches a tipping point. From that point on all AZT does is reduce the speed of increase of the viral load. The tipping point arrives on average within the first 28 days.

Now I fully understand why this information was suppressed when first discovered as it took longer than 28 days (about 3 months in fact) to grow the viral blood cultures to a point that HIV could be detected. However that is no longer the case and there is a 99.8%

accurate test 10 days after infection. So why not update the advice and treatments? Is it a case of the medical establishment refuse to change advice? Rather like the dont take alcohol with antibiotics. Or is it another case of the US government doing experiments on a group of its citizens (like they did on the black community in the 40's and 50's) and our government doing what our paymasters tell us?

all I know is that if you are infected with HIV there is a 20 odd day window to kill the virus however we do not have the option of treatment in the UK because NICE say the risk of infection is so slight that it is not cost effective to offer the tests and treatments on the NHS (except to Emergency Services and NHS staff who sustain a (sharps) blood injury involving a know (registered) HIV+ person.

just imagine what whole world cooperation could achieve in a case like this.

if everyone but I mean everyone stopped having sex for say 3 months and then all got tested (still not having sexuaal contact waitied for the results and then all HIV+ would know and only have fun with the same people you could near enough erradicate HIV withing a couple of generations

BUT then you would allways get the GIT who would breaak the rules just because they can
