Bath tap

Hi all,

I have a problem with the hot water tap on my bath.

It suddenly seems to have a reduced flow of water, to the point of fully opening it and not getting a full flow of water, and just a touch stiff to open.

Would anyone have any ideas how I could fix this?

Thanks in advance if anyone has any tips!

What type of tap?

Better question

Is it a mixer tap or individual hot & cold taps?

Could be something as simple as the wash let inside the tap, really easy to replace.

isolate the water to the tap before taking it apart to check

A single classic bath tap.

I don't have a mixer tap.

Not isolating the water before taking it apart would increase the flow of water...

Thanks for the advice!

Is it full of lime scale?

I'm going to take it apart tomorrow and have a look.

I've given the tap a spray of some limescale cleaner spray stuff.

It'll be clogged up with limescale inside.

You can buy replacement internals for taps. Its a 2 minute job to strip out the old one and replace it

just clocked where you live .... could well be limescale .... hopefully it's not right through your hot water circuit, boiler, tank etc. cos that area is terrible for limescale
