Totally agree. Toast slathered with proper salted butter is sublime.

On the subject of butter. The fewer ingredients the better. It should only be milk (cream) and salt, those apparently 'healthy' spreads are full of flavourings and preservatives that they simply can't be good for you. They also taste like Shit.....

Ok. Google has been my friend! It seems they both did it and were both fronted by Paul Young, but it was Streetband. I'd never heard of them!

Just a little bit toast!

Hot buttered crumpets! Hot enough so the butter melts down the holes. If you're being extravagant add some Bovril.

Perfik.

I love that we've finally got those fucking stupid New Years resolutions out the way. This is where the gyms start to empty and we get back to real living!

Have to agree with you. Hot buttered toast, with that one quarter of butter that hasn't quite melted. Pure bliss!

My recommendation is to go for a fresh warburton toastie slice, though most bread works. However, go for Kerrygold Irish Butter (the block not a plastic tub of spreadable), can't beat it (flora gold isn't bad if you want spreadable).

If you're on the Irish tip, have a cup of Barry's Tea with it!

Crumpets (or Pikelets) no toasted. Must be put in a frying pan. Spread both sides with butter and start on the bottom. Allow the loaded side to have the butter melt into the porous crumpet side and then turn over & cook briefly on a high heat!

All this talk of toast has now got me going to the kitchen for a slice at 23:59!!!! So wrong!
