"tyson wouldnt get anywhere near bruce lee hes far too quick in his actions tyson wouldnt see it coming."
Again you say that, but Bruce Lee was a big proponent of boxing, he had a lot of respect for them as he fought a lot of boxers on the streets of Hong Kong.
Boxers are very very fast, Bruce could deliver a tremendous amount of power much more than his frame would suggest. But Tyson is literally twice the size and power |

I saw a vid on you tube between a big bruiser of a guy and one of the Gracie brothers (Jiu Jitsu), the big guy got wasted. Size doesn't matter, it's skill and speed, apart from the fact the Bruce is no longer with us, if they were put in the UFC ring, my money would be on Bruce Lee, no one could match his speed. |

"Mike Tyson V's Bruce Lee
Now I like ol Bruce but I can't see him handling the mauling an animal like Tyson would dish out. "
Lee's versatility, and speed would give him a big advantage.
But Tyson could take a punch.
Tyson would only have to hit Lee once to slow him down.
How long could Lee evade Tyson, while trying to wear him down, at the same time as not getting hit himself.
Both fighters have skills that could counter the other.
I can't call it...... |

"Just take a look a Bolo Yeung ... if Bruce could take him down then Tyson wouldn't be a problem "
Well no I don't think so, old bolo is the same height as me and I'm practically a midget. Where Tyson is quite a bit bigger. |

I have trained and competed in a couple of martial arts. The closest I have come to boxing is kickboxing.
Boxers/kickboxers are hard to beat in a fight without rules because they train to take hits in order to get you with a better/harder hit. In a brawl I would pick the boxer.
Most martial arts by comparison focus around evasion, deflection, counter attacks and the precision and control of attacks. In a fight with a referee I would pick the martial artist. |

It's a discussion, it wouldn't be terribly interesting if I just agreed with every one, and my mind is far from made up its just that most people seem to think Bruce would win I'm trying to tease out the reasons they think this |

not far from iceland,,,,,, tescos is nearer though :-) (near leeds) |
Apple's and oranges... Is it no holds barred , rules, refs.
Folk forget a young Tyson was a very very accomplished boxer, one of the best heavy weights .. I remember Ali fighting a kick boxing world champion when Ali was world heavyweight champ and the kick boxer spent the rounds on his backside kicking Ali on his legs..
I'm going Tyson,.. |

on the road to nowhere in particular |
Tyson was very small for a heavyweight but was very fast. He also had most of his opponents beaten before he got in the ring. Boxers like Mitchell Green in his early years and Holyfield later on showed up his deficiencies.
Conor McGregor shows how effective speed and accuracy are for smaller fighters.

Mike Tyson is only 1m78 tall, so not a monster. Bolo is 1m68 but physically as large as iron Mike |

In a street fight with no rules I would pick Bruce Lee. Martial arts is more fluid and able to adapt to different fighting styles where boxing is more rigid and Tyson would be limited to only having boxing skills. Bruce Lee would be able to use his hands, feet and also a knowledge of submission holds that Tyson wouldn't have. |

If you're talking MA vs boxing, then there's the infamous Gene Lebell vs Milo Savage fight in 1963. This ended pretty much all trash talking that boxing is superior to MA |
