I did a body core training class at the leisure centre last night. Been very lazy over Christmas and new year so easing back into it slowly.

There is no point weighing yourself every day. Your weight fluctuates over the week, especially during TOTM.

Weigh yourself once a week, on the same scales, preferably naked or wearing the same clothes, first thing in the morning, after your first wee. And don't stress so much! Weightloss is not linear. As long as its trending down, and your clothes are getting looser, that's all that matters.

I don't weigh myself and my PT says the same. I go by how my clothes fit.

At the minute they aren't fitting well!

But they are fitting better than they did last week.

Still haven't decided on my training aims for this year though. Although having major trouble walking today after trying to deadlift my bodyweight last night, that decision may have been made for me!

Only put on 2 lbs over crimbo.

Already lost it.

But we are both suffering from niggling injuries at the moment and can't get any consistency.

Gonna swim for a while and drop the gym for couple of weeks.

My diets going great, even when I was deployed for my job and the only places to eat nearby was a McDonalds and a Subway (fast food lovers - you can split a 12" sub over two meals!)

Unfortunately I cannot get motivated to do some exercise. I have a cold but that's no excuse for my lazing around last week.

Don't let negative comments get you down, you look great. I know it's easier said than done though as I've been there myself.

The only thing that slightly annoys me is whilst I've lost just over 2 stone and I can see my shape changing slowly I don't seem to have dropped any dress sizes since before I started.

For those who started this week, after 4 weeks you will notice a difference in yourself. Regardless of what numbers you see on a screen.

Keep it up, you will achieve what you want to work hard for.

"I need motivation to join the gym. "

Even if the gym isn't what you're motivated towards, you can use other means to get fit.

Give yourself a goal of what you want to achieve and what time frame you would like to do it in. So it could be tone up, increase strength or trim down. Start simple with a fitness app like freeletics, it will give you daily exercises to follow for your aim. Accompany that with, shuttle runs, a Jog or some cycling and you should start to see a difference in approximately 4 weeks.

"This morning I did Park Run, then went straight to a PT session. Now that is dedication!

However, I have a 10k a week tomorrow and Park Run proved I am in no way fit enough to run.

Not helping that I fly to Poland on Monday! Still will make the carb loading fun. "

Are you carb loading for the 10k?

Not really. I only have carbs with my breakfast on a normal diet, so I'll probably have a pasta meal the night before, but not load like I did for the half marathons I did.

Good luck with your 10k. I hope to do another 10k once I'm done with my marathon in April. Hopefully all the miles im doing will help me break my pb.

"I was doing well, had a wee meltdown yesterday and today due to feeling a bit shit after some comments. Tomorrow is another day.

Don't let negative comments get you down, you look great. I know it's easier said than done though as I've been there myself.

The only thing that slightly annoys me is whilst I've lost just over 2 stone and I can see my shape changing slowly I don't seem to have dropped any dress sizes since before I started.

I don't normally, but it really got to me this week.

I know what you mean - it takes at least 2 stone for me before I change dress size.

I'm sure it makes no difference to you what I say but you always look amazing & I only ever see positive comments about your look, usually on every thread you appear in lol!

Just look at the comments on here alone.

Exactly!"

Week 5 of marathon training now complete. I don't know how the elite club and international runners do over 140 miles a week, I'm tired out doing 55 miles a week. Hopefully as the weeks go by i should feel fitter, and it will become easier.

Finally something positive to post on this thread!

After 4 runs in 5 weeks due to an injury and then a horrid cold that lingered on my chest for 2 weeks, I ran a 10 miler today. Had low expectations and clocked a near 4 minute PB, granted my 10PB was always the softest but still well chuffed with that, and undulating course and certainly wan't on my limit and a comfortable mid pack finish. Back on track for Brighton!

I'm dying with the flu, made it to the gym yesterday but still managed to leg press 75% of my body weight for 15 reps.

Squats suffered a but mainly due to the fact I was having the sweats before I even got to the gym and didn't have a nose to breath through.

Did some hiit too which again is hard when you can't breath but I managed it.

The miles isn't really a problem for me as i have regularly running 30-40 miles for the last year, it's more the cumulative effect of running the faster runs when im feeling tired. The weekend 2 runs are the worst because i have a tough session on the saturday, followed by my long run, so i could have 9 miles in my legs from Saturday when i start my long run on the sunday. But i guess it's all good practise for when i get to 20 miles in the marathon.

Weighed yesterday and lost 3lbs this week - giving up crisps altogether (I think I had a salt addiction) and less carbs more protein seems to be working.

Walking lots more and got an appointment to join a new gym on Sunday.

Anyone used any of those exercise apps for a mobile ? Found any of them worthwhile ?

Salt retains a lot of water so reducing salt does help but if your exercising you need an amount of salt for muscle repair and to prevent cramps.

So we need salt just in the right amounts. If I have a meal out (often high in salt) I can put on 2 lbs over night x

Feeling very chuffed with myself considering before xmas i was only doing on average 1000. Last week i averaged at 3000, and this week im up to 5000. Its all about small changes.

you see, little changes happening all the while and sometimes you dont notice, I notice when I want to squeeze by someone sitting down they just move their legs rather than having to stand up.

I didn't do it but have you thought of starting a journal. I wish I had now. So I know everything. I logged into my fitness pal, last time it showed I logged on I was 18 stome. But I can't remember a lot of things changing

Week 9 with my PT commences tomorrow so a change of programme to something more intense and advanced. (It's good to keep the body on it's toes)

I'm a bit nervous though

No i havent, the nearest swimming pool is 25 mins away so its put me off as my only free time is when the nipper is at school..

Luckily our town is having a pool built and will be completed in October so fingers crossed they will offer something like that.

I did a 10k today in London.

8 minutes slower than the last time I attempted a 10k, but I haven't done any training apart from a half hearted attempt at Park Run last week.

Next one is in May where I will come in at under an hour.

That is a bit of a trek, so I don't blame you but it's really good for you. A friend with mobility problems and very poor muscle tone due to crash diets used to do it and loved it x

Everyone's doing great, well done!

Not sure how my weigh in will go tomorrow, been good all week and enjoying my workouts at the gym, but it's ladies week so don't know how that will register on the scales. But it's only a number, my body is definitely changing and my colleagues are commenting on the difference.

Went lingerie shopping yesterday with another fabber, tried on a slip in a 16 and it was slightly gapey at the boobs. So tried on the 14 - slightly clingy at the stomach but fits perfectly everywhere else.

Never owned anything in a 14 before, damn straight I bought it!

Well its weigh day today.. my feet and legs are very puffy so the plan is drink loads and keep them elivated in the hope the water retention sorts itself out

Hope you all have a good day xx

Yesterday I very nearly tasted tarmac at 30mph cycling to work. Monday night a d*unk took a swing at me while I was running. Who said exercise was good for you?

Brighton - even Hove!

I did a short run yesterday but need to get my diet right - needs to be more protein and I need to get a routine going, as I haven't sorted that out yet. Always seems to be more stuff to do that impedes any free time i get.

I can't believe I haven't seen this thread before! We definitely need some accountability for our goals, since I've had 3 cheat days on my diet this week and the good days weren't great either and he wasn't much better!

My (F) goals for the year:

-Lose some weight (1-2 stone depending on how clothes fit)

-Drop back down to a size 10

-Build strength in my upper body

-Make yoga a regular daily activity regardless of what else I'm doing

I put on 2 stone between November and January, I was on a uni placement so I fell into bad habits and then Christmas happened. Never again, this time I want it to stay off!

I need to work on my arms a bit, can't seem to lift very much at all. I'm doing 20lbs on the arm curls but 40lbs on the triceps, it's easier to push down than lift up lol!

I posted on one of the earlier threads that I wanted to do five pull ups by the end if the year. I can almost do one already!

Marc is very proud.

I bought a scale but I haven't used it yet
