So, someone gives you food while at work. You don't like said food and you say, thanks but no thanks. But the person doesn't listen and insists on you taking it.
What do you do the next day when they ask you how the food was? What's your strategy? Are you honest and say you didn't eat it, or do you lie and say it was good? Or do you never take the food to begin with even though they insisted?

Don't take the food to begin with if it's something i know i won't eat. If it's going to cause offence, I'd rather offend them at that point than have to worry about it and potentially ending up offending them anyway. |

Yeah.... I told the person I didn't like the food, but thanks anyway. Then when I came back from work the food was at my desk.

Yeah I would just be honest and say I don't like it, but thank you for the offer.
Bit weird if they have still left it on your desk...
Restraining order needed?? Lol |

"What food?
I'd just say no thanks I won't eat it. If they kept insisting I'd think it was poisoned.
I didn't think of that "
Give it your boss.
If someone kept insisting when I'd said "no thank you" I'd just find that very rude.
Like Scarlet said, just say you're allergic. |

Or maybe its just that you dont like the idea of not knowing what your eating . Id be honest . I dont eat anything unless iv seen it being prepared unless its take away resteraunt etc etc .
I once got a special curry delivered from a take away and to my horror there was a whole chickens neck in it haha . I rang up complained . Pulled the neck out and down the hatch it went . The neck went in the bin . Cant imagine anyone wanting to eat a chickens neck lol |

Of the two people in this situation it isn't you who's rude.
The lady next door came round with two bags of dried cat food from her ex cat. Mr N politely declined telling her ours wouldn't eat it and it would go to waste, she was obviously offended. People can be very odd...except me |

If they did that to me it would've gone straight in the bin. |

There are few people I eat from. There's one in particular who is always bringing things she's made in. As I've yet to witness the dirty cow wash her hands after going to the loo I'd not eat from her!
I'm an adult, if I don't want something I say so. I'm not nasty, just say thanks but I don't like it. |

Had this before, fed the ducks at lunchtime and told the truth.
I said " it never even touched the sides, it was gone so quick"
Never said it was me who ate it

If Courtney doesn't post tomorrow someone call an ambulance.
FYI, in case of emergency I'm happy to loosen her clothing. |

"Take it home throw it in the bin, tell them I was not fussy on it."
I feel awful, but I think this is what I'm doing. I couldn't find the guy to give it back. Marc won't eat them. I don't have the courage to tell the truth.

I take stuff to work quite often that's been baked by my mum who is an ex chef but I put it on the kitchen counter for people to help themselves if they don't want it that's fine I wouldn't force anyone. If it doesn't get eaten it gets put out in the rubbish. No need to force it on people that's just rude. |

Why should you feel awful, the guy who gave you the food was being a prat, it's rude to force it on you when you told him no. I would've waited until he was watching and then thrown it in the bin at work. |

I'd have never taken it in the first place. I've done similar in the past. Sounds like you had no choice though.
I wouldn't say anything to the person. Wait to see if they mention it. If they do then just lie. Say you're not a huge fan of mince pies but Marc loved them |

The mysterious, hypothetical Marc ?
Maybe they thought he needed extra rations, being locked up in the dungeon with only dog toys to keep him occupied "
He's in the attic. My dungeon has better uses |
