Was at Sainsburys bakery counter drooling over the cakes today, eventually bought a strawberry tart.

So whats your choice?

Cream cakes on the continent are so much nicer than the ones you get here.

I'm a sucker for a French one called a Mille Feuille. The nearest British equivalent would be a vanilla slice, but it doesn't taste the same.

EAST SUFFOLK

New York Cheesecake is my favourite, although an Apricot Danish or Fresh Cream Vanilla slice go down nice with me. Cream horns? No thanks, they are usually all horn and not enough cream for my liking, and you always get left with that dry stubby bit at the end, like those dreadful cornetto ice creams. I like all oral delights

I'd take a lemon cheesecake or tarte tatin, but if I had to choose a cream cake I'd go for a cream & apple turnover - drool....

Ooh, I've not had a tarte tatin for ages - I could go for some of that right now, if I hadn't stuffed myself with Key Lime Pie earlier tonight.

Heh, too bad. I would've swapped some of my Key Lime Pie for it. Although I have to admit I didn't make mine, Mr Marks and Mr Spencer did it for me... they're better at it than I am

If you have never tried a proper german "vanilla slice" they are one of the most fantastic things on earth...

second only to a new york "non-cheese" cheesecake..... yes they do exist!

My son in law is from the USA so I make key lime pie, pumpkin pie and peecan pie quite often. they don't last that long in their house though

Apple and cream turnover. Or an apple and blackberry and cream turnover. Or a custard slice, while not a cream cake, it's in the same fridge at the supermaket and now I can't stop thinking about eating one!!
